So I haven’t played for a while (except against my wife when she is willing) which means that I fully expect to have holes in this list, but I am hoping to get some games in soon. At the same time though I collect models based on how much I like them rather than on how effective they are so that is the reason for some choices (Assassin I am talking about you!). The manner in which I would like to see this list operate is in short range firepower both magical and mundane, followed by smaller, hard hitting units taking down mid tier enemy units and avoiding any deathstars. Any thoughts are appreciated and I can substitute a little from my collection if there is anything that is completely useless in this list. Thanks in advance!

So, I'm caveating this heavily as I have little experience of DE; either playing with or against.
I like the list, I like the concept of smaller units synergising rather than having one death star hoard smashing through things.
With the smallness of the units are you expecting them to break and reform frequently? If so, you might benefit from a BSB somewhere to help hold the line and with reforms etc.

I have thought that I should put in a BSB, the issue is I am unsure what to cut. The idea of taking the opposing army with a ‘death of a thousand cuts’ approach means I can’t reduce much in terms of units. The one obvious area to find points is the Assassin, who I absolutely adore as a model. Also, I need to convert a BSB and paint him, which is annoying. Been trying to upload the picture I took of the Army as well for a reference point. Thanks a ton for the feedback.

I echo prior feedback: a BSB could be a win, and then the size of some unit seem small. I'm all for MSUs, but though I don't play DE, I'm curious about goals and objectives. For example, what is the goal of 13 Black Guard? What do you intend to do with them? Any combat will eat them up.
I get the Wtich Elves' small size for flanking, and the shooting small sizes, but..
Maybe I'd consider dropping one of the BG/Corsairs/Dreadspears, and with those points adding a BSB and bulking up one of the other units.

I love that you are trying out something different with the DE. MSU is definitely challenging. If you want plenty of elf battlereps to get some ideas you can check out swordmasters website. He dedicated most of his 8th playing to this style (though he used HELFs rather than DEs): swordmasterofhoeth.blogspot.com/p/battle-reports.html?m=1I do echo the above comments. A BSB is definitely needed and I’d probably drop the lvl 2 to fit it in.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I have revised the list with a couple of different set ups, all of which include a BSB that I converted this week. Now I just need to get some games in to see if the MSU theory can work or if I need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Most of this has already been said, but I would certainly keep corsairs over dreadspear- dropping the dreadspears for a master bsb w/ eshield, sea dragon cloak, and heavy armor. I’d also tool up the ass-ass’n as a blender for big threats/ enemy bsb. I’m also more fond of dscroll over sacrificial dagger, and maybe even shadow magic on that mage.
Corsairs make a heluva tar pit, especially with a hydra on their far flank to sweep up the mess. Just make sure that they are put in lane against spears or something simple. Keep them away from things with armor piercing, high S, etc.
Witch elves outside of the deathstar should likely be your other far flank, as they shred just about anything due to number of attacks. They are very squishy w/o the cauldron however.
Black guard fill a similar role to WE, but due to their bit of armor and their armor piercing, will make them a bit flexible, so great down center as a take-all-comers unit, especially if they are tag teaming with cold ones, and the chaff of the dark riders.
Overall analysis: it definitely needs some tweaking, but can make for a solid build if you keep your wits about ye.
Btw this is coming from a HE player who almost exclusively plays against DE
