Yesterday, the video Unsubtle Allegory starring the Adeptus Astartes and Underhive Scum was uploaded on Youtube, dealing with themes of Blanchitsu, crazy creativity and unpainted miniatures. The bizarre Underhive Scum may strike a chord with many converters around here. For those around here who may not be familiar with the long-running Warhammer 40'000 parody series If The Emperor Had A Text To Speech Device) (TTS): It is a silly parody heavy on profanities, which is nevertheless far too well crafted to be a mere parody, given the lowly standards of parodies overall. It is produced by a bunch of people who used to by known for their gutter-quality dumb jokes, which usually involved stupidities twisted from Dawn of War, but who have evolved their skills into providing genuinely good storytelling, depth, voice acting and music for the beloved TTS series. TTS is a testament to how positively collaborative the Warhammer community can be, and so often is. I suspect that the dark comedy of 40k, with the bonkers setting being its own parody from the very start, may have something to do with why TTS is of such unsuspecting high quality. In fact the silly videos of TTS and the serious lore videos by Luetin09 (both at the top of their game, gems of 40k on Youtube) have been responsible for pulling quite a number of new people into the hobby. They sure are good portals into 40k. Check both out if you haven't seen them before, and if you have any interest whatsoever in the grim darkness of the far future.
