Hello, new person here on the forum. Been playing Warhammer fantasy since 6th edition, have been specifically playing 8th edition forever, and somehow just found this forum, happy to have found more 8th edition enthusiasts! Just finished 6 weeks of assembling and painting 2000 points of Orcs and Goblins since covid 19 has forced me to stop working, looking forward to moving onto some Slaanesh themed Chaos guys next.
I noticed GW recently released 10 new Chaos warrior sculpts with a start collecting box for AoS. Wondering if anybody has put these on square bases and if so do they rank up with the regular Chaos Warriors?

Yup, one of the guys in our group did it. He had to finagle them to all fit into a five man rank. He said he had to number the bases to make sure they fit.
Basically it is do able, but tricky.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it! I eventually tracked down some photos, it looks possible they will just be super cramped haha.

I ended up doing this, it works.....just barely. They are nice models though and i think they match up with the monopose older chaos warriors nicely.

When I get unrankable models I have started making occasional fillers that allow you to spread the pain a little - even just a 2 base or 40mm filler breaks up the tangle of arms a little and makes things easier

They are damn fine unit champions! You still need to be careful with posing the models around, but they sure stand out while fitting in great with the older R'n'F warriors.
One trick you can use for ranking "unrankable" models is to raise their position. Use some rocks to stand on, or tree branches, whatever fits your basing theme. This of course works best with units that are "wild" or "storming forward" - I'm thinking of Black orcs and Savage Orcs here.

Isn’t there some old bases with round pice in the middle that allows for the model to wiggle/move?

Isn’t there some old bases with round pice in the middle that allows for the model to wiggle/move? GW did some movement trays of sorts for their "War of the Ring" game, I think for 25mm and 40mm round bases.

I think we had someone post on here a while back, some bases where he essentially cut out a circle and magnetized it back so that he could make the unit fit together in any position. That may be what you're referring to strutsagget?
