As we all know, Warhammer: The Old World is in the works and will arrive in the distant future, but we still know very little about it. One night, I had a thought about a fun poll that could be disseminated around the Warhammer Fantasy community to ask them which two races they'd like to see in a starter set for this new game, given that GW will most likely make one at some point (you know how much they love their boxed games), and this will provide the easiest entry for many potential new players (and old players wanting to start one or more new forces). Therefore, I have come to you and now ask, which two races would you like to see in the boxed game for Warhammer: The Old World when it eventually arrives? You never know, someone working for GW might be reading this RIGHT NOW, and our votes might decide who will appear in the starter box. Simply choose two races from the list above. While it would make most sense to have one Order race vs one Destruction race in the boxed game, pretty much every race in the Warhammer world has had at least one fight with every other one, so it’s really up to you. Remember, I am asking you who YOU WANT to be in the boxed game, not necessarily who is THE MOST LIKELY to appear in it, (as that would be a lot simpler to answer), but likelihood can be used to influence your choice, e.g. a race that you like which would also be highly likely. I also circulated this poll around Lustria Online a while back, and would be most interested to see the differences if there are any. Anyway, let the voting and discussing begin!

I don’t see the voting/poll. But anyway, my vote is empire and orcs, same as the 6th edition starter box. This was my first WFB purchase so holds a certain nostalgia for me. Also if empire is really a main focus of this new system/game it would seem possible these could actually be the included armies.

I don’t see the voting/poll. Surprising, the poll is definitely at the top of the thread as far as I can see.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, though with it being forge world I’m not sure if it is inevitable that there will be a starter set. It will all depend if the models will be plastic rather than resin and the format of the game. I also think the poll should contain Kislev. As the only other confirmed race, I wouldn’t object to Kislev and Empire in the starter set.

Kislev (with Dogs of War allies) vs Chaos Dwarfs (with Big Hats)
Dogs of War would include plastic birdmen of Catrazza (inspired by the Island of Blood Reavers/Griffon kits)
......let a man dream of the impossible.....

If they do one, I see it being like those and Necromunda where you get a simplified version of the game to use the exact contents in with the actual rules available as a separate purchase.

Be nice to see Brets and Tomb Kings. That was my thought too - a Bret crusade that encounters the Tomb Kings. They're the two armies that got most screwed over by AoS (i.e. dropped entirely) and both needed a good overhaul of their models (note: I love the old Brets and am collecting them, but they went far too long without new releases). Empire looks the most likely though, and I imagine it'll be one of their local "evil" foes - Orcs & Goblins, Vampire Counts, Beastmen and Warriors of Chaos (in order of decreasing likelihood).

Yeah basically my reasoning as well was getting some affordable models for both factions.

Warriors of Chaos and Kislev maybe?
Alternatively, something we can't even imagine to tie in with Game 3 of Total War Warhammer, like Chaos Daemons vs. Cathey or something.

I voted for the two I'd like to see.
But we all know it's going to be Empire vs. Orcs. Unless it's Sigmarites vs. Orcs...

Or just the three dots in the corner of the app and then press web view and log in.

I voted beastmen surprisingly I would love some plastic centigors and razorgor models , currently using rhinox.
