I’ve been able to start doing some painting during the lock down.
I started getting into DEs when I moved to the south of Spain and found a strong fantasy community in Gibraltar.
When I used to play when I was much younger I mainly collected goblins and dwarves. They never really stood much of a chance against my brothers woodelves. I guess we didn’t know how to point an army and this was 2nd or 3rd edition.
Anyways, I thought I’d collect an army that may have a chance of winning everynow and then. It’s not disappointed and seems to offer me endless variety in list building and ways to play.
I’ll upload some pics of paint jobs, kit bashes, conversions and builds:

But hopefully I’ll work it out and be able to crack on:) . You can upload single images per post using the Tapatalk app. Alternatively you can upload images to a third party site (such as imgur) and link them to the forum using the B.B. forum code option. You won’t be able to upload directly onto the forum, as that option is turned off due to limited free capacity.

Ok I was painting these this week. These are some of those AOS water elves? But I like the models and think they make good executioners. I think they’re more interesting than the executioner models too, which look like the same guy over and over. Please don’t ban me from the group for this...

This is a comparison pic. I needed a bolt thrower for a tournament. I could only get a Mantic. Check him out doing the robot on the right.

And the bolt thrower looks like a fricking wheelbarrow. It is not the size of a machine of war. I can’t stand this model.

Your bolt Thrower looks great and far better than the puny Mantic one. Your Idoneth executioners look nice. Don't worry we are an accepting bunch here... you won't get banned.... Especially as you rebased them to squares Can you post a ranked up picture of the full regiment?

Using the idoneth(?) as dark elves is actually a really good fit for them. Did they come with those weapons or did you kit bash them? The water elf archers are also really good models. They work great for ‘good’ elves, as long as you do a head swop. The wildwood ranger heads work very well.

They sure are more interesting than the regular executioners. Have you considered giving atleast some of them a mane of hair? I think that would really sell them as dark elves.
