Hello guys, I'm new to Warhammer Fantasy 8th edition so please bare with me..
I don't seem to understand if it is possible for, example, a Dreadlord to start a game within a Witch Elves unit or if you have to wait for your Movement phase, deploy them close, Move your Unit AND your Dreadlord and have him joining them at the end of the phase.
I'm asking because from how the rules are worded, this seems the case, but in all the Battle Reports I've seen characters start the game Inside the unit. Is there some sort of FAQ I'm missing? Or it's just in the battle reports I've seen they totally skipped this rule?
Thank you in advance!

The rule in question is to be found in the chapter "Fighting a Warhammer Battle" (BRB p. 140 ff.), specifically the section regarding deployment (BRB p. 142):
"All characters must be deployed last, again taking up just one turn, but may be set up in separate locations or units in their deployment zone."
unless, of course, specified otherwise.

Thank you! So you basically can 'deploy' a Character into your unit no problems? That' s great!

Yes, unless specified otherwise. Basically, if they cannot join certain units, they cannot be deployed in those either. So, a character cannot normally be deployed a unit of monsters, flyers, chariots, or swarms, nor in a war machine unit, or a unit that is Unbreakable (unless the character himself is Unbreakable). Similarly, a character that is itself a monster, or riding a monster or a chariot cannot normally be deployed in other units.
