Sorry, for you feeling sick. That sure can put a damper on things. Hope you're better now!

Priming still counts. Sometimes I'm happy if I prime just 1 model in a day.
Covered in paint....even just 1 bland colour....seems so much closer to ready than the bare plastic.
Do some tai chi to help with your migraine.
Feel the energy from your models.
4+ with a reroll.

Day 29
Primed twelve Black Orcs (silver) and ten Dwarfs (black), also put sand and magnets on ten more Dwarfs. I am also preparing for an "event" on a German forum, a 24 hour paint marathon - a Paintathon if you will - starting noon tomorrow, ending Sunday noon. This will come with a few of the dreaded WIP shots for the "before" status, and hopefully quite a few pictures afterwards with whatever I get done. Please do not expect pics of the results this weekend, since I will most likely crash and burn Sunday afternoon.
I want to get the terrain finished I started last week, do some ethereal Undead (trying out Contrast for the first time), possibly finish those five Black Orcs from weeks ago, and continue some WH:U warbands I had started and never finished months ago. Also: some Space Marines, totally off topic here!
Get better. Also, this log needs more pictures. Make it so, please. Thanks, same to all others! My head is a bastard, that's just how it is.
As for the pictures: true dat! I dislike sharing WIP stuff, and there has not been anything finished since I started this whole thing. However, this will change shortly, see above.

Day 30
Today will be a bit different, as I will shortly start on a "paint stuff for 24 hours" thingy. See here for the original "before" status. I will post WIP shots on that forum over the next 24 hours, and results later on here as well. As mentioned yesterday: don't expect results before Monday though!
For a quick look on where I'm starting from:

Day 31
Todays post is a bit longer than usual...
As mentioned yesterday, I attempted 24 hours of painting, starting at 12:00 yesteray. In short: completely forgot about the WIP pix here, managed to get a massive three models finished, and went to bed frustrated at 9:00 in the morning today.
It started well enough, see yesterdays post for the models I had prepared. A pretty wild mix of things, and I thought "well, whatever my mood is, I'll find something I want to paint at any given time". The... ahem... workplace:
Later at night, with some sleeping cattos:
On and off I got some painting done until ending the whole thing at about 08:00 in the morning. Some more Dwarfs were primed (see further below). Went for a short morning walk and off to bed after that.
What got finished (not varnished yet though) in the end are these:
Due to my poor photo skills this looks all shite, despite quite some effort put into the painting. After this they got a second coat of brown on the base rims. There will also be some grass once they are varnished - other than that they are done. It might look unfinished, but the bases are meant to look like this, the "glow effect" is done on purpose. After all, they are meant to fit in with my other Undead:
Other than those, nothing got finished or to a point where I am willing to share pictures. 21 Skeleton Warriors and 16 Ghouls made progress on their bones and skin - kinda tedious and time-consuming, but nothing worth showing.
So... not exactly a great turnout. I got distracted waaayyyy too much - the cats didn't help with that - and ended up being really frustrated with myself in the morning.
Lessons learned: - "less is more": better set aside myself only a dozen models with some good idea what I actually want to get done on them
- "have a plan for everything": as said, I better have a good idea for each and every model
- "set a schedule": it should be easier to break up the 24 hours into smaller chunks by setting smaller goals (that can be checked off on a list)
What went right was the food and drink procedure, meaning "many small meals, lots of drinking" worked well.
In addition to the painting I also primed some more models for an upcoming project, namely ten more Dwarfs. This is how they look, and hold onto a tin lid:
The good news about the pre-Christmas season: there are lots of tin cans on sale that are just perfect for storing and transporting miniatures. The lid used above is from this:
They come with some pointless inserts though, so I first need to get rid of this junk:
Working on it...

Awesome idea. Getting rid of the chocolate would be no problem for me.

thumbs up for pictures!
The ethereals look nice. I'd say the ground glowing where they tread worked.
Painting through the night in general sounds a bit crazy to me, you tried it, it's not for you, move on. simple. though I bet your cat liked the attention, ours sometimes go wild at night and seem unhappy about all the two-leggers not partaking.

I agree with your statement a few posts back, focusing on one unit at a time works well. I dont always follow this advice, but find things go better when i do.

Well, you may not feel as though you got much done, but I think you got a lot accomplished! I find that sometimes the first few models are the hardest to get done, when I'm trying out a new scheme or discovering how to address the details on a new model I haven't painted before. I'll find myself going back to a certain color 20 times because I didn't see something that needed it until after I've moved on to other colors. Doesn't matter how much I look over the model or research examples of what others have done with it.
Priming and magnetizing that many models will take up all my hobby time most days too.
BTW, you have WAAAAY too much chocolate there! *sigh* I suppose you can send the rest to me and I'll help you finish it......

Day 32
Thank you everybody for the encouraging words!
Feeling a bit burnt out today. Did some small blobs of paint on terrain, about five minutes worth of painting. That's it for the day.

I think the ethereals came out nice.

Those 5 minutes add up though Darnok so keep it up. After long shifts I sometimes hust6do a 30 min stint, to do what ever layer I happen to be on on whatever set of models I'm doing, and although I feel a bit dejected at the time for not powering through, they soon add up. Great blog so far, looking forward to seeing more 😊

Day 33 & Day 34
Did nothing yesterday, since my mood did quite a dive over the day. Got some green on the skin of some Greenskins today though - it's something!
