A list of project logs for inspiration from hobby heroes of ages past (or who are just on a long break). Know a worthy candidate? Post below.
Anton's Army of the Eight Peaks Goblins galore. Green stuff and conversion. Big game battle report.
High Elves vs Dogs of War battle series by Mahbruck Beautiful Dogs of War and High Elf models in action.
My Necrofex Colossus. by Mioum
just what you would expect from the title. Gorgeous.

mottdon dragging up a very deserving log from the depths of the forum made we wonder: should we have some kind of stickied thread with links to project logs that are ~abandoned but worth a look again and again for inspiration? I think warseer had (has?) something called 'Hall of Heroes' along those lines and I liked visiting and marvel at old works. Now that photobucket partially came back (ugly overlay instead of no picture for those who don't want to pay ridiculous fees), old threads are a lot more useful. We've only been around for a few years but I think there are a few gems that have sunk way too deep and little prospect of being continued. opinions?

Yep agreed. There are some great plog’s here. I’d definitely want the chaps from Vietnam added with his stunning dogs of war!

Totally onboard with this idea. There are things I KNOW I've seen in the past, but just too difficult to go look them up. KevinC?
I vote for Anton's army to be added as well. That's a GREAT example of how a proper Goblin mob should look. He used green stuff, he made unit fillers, and added height variations to make each (huge!) mob unique. Painting was on spot too! I wish he still frequented our forum, but we still need to honor that masterpiece

Alright! I think the easiest low-tech way is for me to keep updating the original post. Now all of YOU need to go to the deep end of this forum and drag up the good stuff. Post a link here and I'll take care of it. I think the criteria should be 'long' abandoned and 'substantial' i.e. a few pages of cool stuff. Of course open to interpretation. I trust your judgements. ...and I agree on the Vietnamese DoW. just couldn't find them right away. Knoffles, have a link? I think the gentleman was going by mahbruck.
Once we have a good number of entries, I am sure the invisible mods will sticky the thread.

added. the paintjobs are still as pretty as the day we first saw them. Anybody recall if he had a 'regular' painting log?
and could somebody on tapatalk confirm that the links are working? I changed strutsagget's monstrous link to something less ..monstrous. Works on old-fashioned PC.

The link works. Just a few images are missing, though, that's probably on his end.

As a fairly new member, I agree that a hall of fame section would be great.

I've added in mioum's necrofex colossus. His main project log would certainly also be worth including. But, he said he might get back to it as of last November. Not sure how abandoned a log should be.

Not sure how abandoned a log should be. I was going to suggest his threads as well. Great stuff there! I don't necessarily think that a thread needs to be "dead" or have a certain amount of inactivity, but it needs to contain great inspiration for members to recall or reference. Someone can be continually updating their work, but it needs to have content that we simply don't need to forget.

well. but if we add in all the current active great threads the list becomes lengthy and duplicates a lot of stuff that is already on the front page or page two (edit: I meant front page of the Painting Forum). whereas this list now is stuff you wouldn't normally find as a casual forum visitor. I was thinking it's like a monument. you only get those when you are dead. maybe I am overthinking it.
along those lines, while I am flattered about including the Volganof city thread, we very much do intend to keep updating that. though clearly we are SLOOOOW.

Well, if you just place a link to the thread, wouldn't you get the full updated documentation? I don't know if there is a way to link the page as well as post an image and short description of what is included in the thread for viewers to search easier? Maybe strutsagget knows?
