Really nice work there. I like the rusty metal parts in particular, well done! I'm not a big fan of the "clonetroops" of 4th/5th edition, especially not for Beastmen. Fighty goats in perfect formation... just looks wrong.

well, but they do have the angry fist in the air to make up for it Great work, markdienekes! Glad you persevered and figured out imgur. Larger than life pictures are unforgiving. You did a fine job though and the units look great as well. Keep it coming. I see more stuff lurking off to the side in the shades.

I am glad to sort it out, nothing like a bunch of broken forum posts to start your... er... posting! You really can really see them like that at that size! Thank you. I have plenty left to paint, I will write down a list of what I have at some point.

Hey, well, have had a few shocking and long work days but did manage to paint a guy, only to drop him whilst on the painting handle, snapping off both his weapons. They are glued back in but sadly a bit wonky. It won't stop him fighting though! I managed to base another last night too, without dropping him, but there's plenty of time for that, hehe. Only 4 more fellas to paint and the movement tray to finish the second unit. I may paint the unit of twenty gors I use as ambushers next, or a chariot! (Not feeling brave enough to attempt a chariot perhaps but will see.

Hello, I would like to consult your knowledge on modelling guys. Does anyone know how to disassemble plastic glued together badly? I picked up some bestigors last year that have been constructed in a terrible way, of which I will take some pictures later. I luckily recently picked up 20 more bestigor put together properly, so will paint them, but still want to try and rescue the others without breaking them!
Also, anyone tried painting a dark red armour ((essentially making the unit khorngors) for any tips for the bestigors? I only have one red paint at the moment (Mephisto Red I think it is called) but it seems quite bright (maybe I could dull it with Agrax shade?) Anyhow, thanks for your time!

Use a sharp hobby knife, work slow and careful. If you do it right, you end up with two flat areas on the parts ends that can immediately be re-glued. Sometimes additional cutting is needed - which can lead to unwanted (but sometimes necessary) shortening of arms, legs or whatever. If done properly it is no big deal, but you can mess up. Better take your time! I don't know how well stocked your FLGS is, but I suggest trying out the colour ranges of Vallejo Game Colour and Army Painter. The latter has one called "Chaotic Red", both in a dropper bottle and as a rattlecan spray - so you can easily prime models with it. You can do browns over it easily, so starting with this could be an easy solution for Khorngors. Depending on how dark you want your red, you could give the armour a black wash, then go over it with Chaotic Red again, and highlight with something like Mephiston Red (I use Vampiric Red from AP here). Not the best picture, but I get this sort of red in the end:

Hey, thanks for your advice, I will have to give it a go, but they are horrific, even most of the horns are back to front and arms and hands with weapons all over the place!
Those skeletons look awesome, is that some mantic stuff mixed in? That works really well. I will have a look at those paints!

Thanks! Yeah, that block is a mix of old and new GW models, with some Mantic ones thrown in as well. For all my Mantic bashing: their skeletons, ghouls and zombies are pretty good. With some cutting (and sometimes minor sculpting) you can easily put heads, weapons and shields from the GW kit - which you will have plenty leftovers from - onto the Mantic models. Don't get me wrong, I thing the GW kit is vastly superior, but I want more variety in my shambling hordes, and Mantic delivers for cheap.

I recently got the mantic gargoyles to use as harpies for my beastmen, however the models are very thin and need a lot of work removing messy plastic!

Looks like Darnok has you all covered on the badly glued beastmen. Good luck sorting that out. If you ask me, plastic glue is the devil and should be verboten.
Regarding dark reds, back in the old days, before every shade of every color was just a buy-it-now click away, what people would do is mix their own colors (I know, crazy, right?!?). All your acrylics will go together quite nicely. so you can darken your red by adding in some dark brown, or even simple black. I wouldn't mix it with agrax or other washes, don't think that will do much. so much more pigment in the flat color. of course the challenge is to then mix up the same shade a week later which is why buy-it-now is rather convenient.
