Those Ungors look awesome, great work!
This reminds me of a question I had before: are you going to incorporate the WH:U Beastmen models into your army?
I think they make for brilliant characters and/or unit champions.

Cheers! I agree, I will get them at some point, really nice models that lot! (I must collect all Beastmen!!!).

I have these in my Beastmen army. They do rank up fairly well. Cutting the round bases to Square was awkward but doable. They make excellent champion models for units.

Okay, I finally managed to finish the ungors tonight, though due to poor camera and light and skills, you will have to forgive the picture quality. I am pleased with how they have turned out. Should be fine on the table! Now I am unsure what to paint next! I want to save my other characters/heroes for when I am a better painter... but I really want to paint Mangoc (an old Bestigor champion model holding his axe horizontally by his knees), or a chariot (though my chariot lacks a base... and the other ones are Gorthor and a nice one with a Bestigor holding a head, and a razorgor conversion, so want to leave those until I'm any way proficient!). Hmm, I may paint up the ambush gors (20 models) for now.

Current unit progress of 20... I will finish two more tonight! I have a game tomorrow, and played another the other day which turned out to be a slaughter for both sides and a draw (we both had about 900 points left on the table out of 1750!) Also, my shaman, Vozrok, took a cannonball to the chest after failing the lookout sir roll, but it bounced harmless off him (a 1 to wound!!!) When I come to paint him I may just stick a cannonball on the base to remember the occasion!

You definitely need to do that cannonball! Those little trophies are what truly make models your own, and ensures you'll remember those epic moments.

Well, here my paintings continues... This is the largest figure I've tried due to the banner. I wanted to make it look like the flayed flesh of a large beast, and I think it more or less looks the part. I have a lot to learn, as I found painting such a large surface tricky (even when I'd watered the paints down - struggling without a wet pallet!) Anyhow, hopefully it doesn't burn your eye sockets! I'm not sure whether to leave it like that, or attempt some freehand (clearly not good enough for that, so maybe not - or apply some suitable chaos transfers... for some reason I've got about twenty old sheets from the 90s available, so I will probably apply a few of those evil markings!!!) Though I do like it simply plain. Does anyone have any tips how to paint future cloth banners dirtied with mud for example? I may go back and sort out the dudes back of his dagger (a bit needs chopping off, goodness me!) And the boys so far. Six left, which I hope to finish on Thursday. I hope! Thanks for looking I will now go and brush off those pesky bits of static grass stuck all over the musician!

The banner looks just right - definitely fleshy. If you want mud on a banner, the best way to do it is to stipple on some watered down brown paint, building it up slowly.
Also a liberal wash of Agrax Earthshade, if you want the whole thing looking dirty.

As someone who's considering starting Beastmen, I'm loving your units so far! The rusty weapons idea is a great one as Beastmen especially don't take much care of their weapons, I'll remember that for when I get my first ones!
If you're playing 7th then feel free to use the 7th book as it is, but as you're definitely playing 8th then you're entitled to at least use the refined Ambush rules and the ability to take Marks from Warhammer: Glottkin to give your Beasts a bit more oomph, plus I personally have no qualms with Beastman players taking Dragon Ogres, Chaos Ogres, Chaos Trolls and Shaggoths from the WoC book as they had originally been intended for Beastmen anyway, so feel free to include some of those in your force too if your opponent is OK with it!

Thanks, it is quite fun painting the rusty stuff! Yes, if I need to I will use marks, my campaign opponent is fine with that, and even mixing in other chaos units if I don't exceed the specials and rare limits. At current, my Empire opponent during the campaign has lost two of three battles, and drawn one, so right now my beasties are doing fine. We are both learning the armies, rules and painting! If I start to struggle, marks will come, but so far tue beasts have smashed it twice.
