What do we think guys? HW and Ironfists? Or great weapons??
I’m leaning toward greatweapons I think because they are likely striking last and I want those wounds to be painful.
What do you think and why?

I am firmly for ironfists. extra armor and parry save! despite their brutish looks, most ogres are pretty fragile with little armor. nice to have one unit that is a bit different. Their charge still hurts quite a bit without greatweapons.

I agree with your sentiment here entirely, my issue has been, low point games mind you, that I’ve run into 1+ AS units and I have issues getting wounds passed.

There are a lot of S5 attacks coming out of the mournfangs. if your opponent is that good at rolling 3+, they might be just as good rolling 4+?
In my experience mournfangs are pretty beastly especially in small games which typically don't feature big hordes throwing out buckets of attacks. I usually don't have anything that can handle them face-to-face and so try to get them through panic tests and/or shooting (and in one glorious game I got a little spirit host in. It was beautiful to watch them be stuck and getting angrier and angrier). what army are you playing against? WoC?

I’ll likely be facing Empire, Dwarves, Brets, occasionally WoC, and whatever mrbaldrick decided to bring since he has quite the collection as well. I think as a collective our group has most of the armies.

I’ve never used them but I’ve faced them many times and always with the iron fists. They are brutal that way. If you need higher Str attacks then you’ll likely have the foot Ogres with great weapons (brain freeze, can’t remember their name!)

Gotta work on the ones which need sub-assembly painting so they are good to use as well.
