you sound like a reasonable man, it'll all work out. maybe your friends/family need to spend more time on this forum to even the odds... I’ve tried to get them on here but not much luck so far. Maybe seeing some of the suggestions posted here will inspire them to give it a try.

Now that I've pointed out the potential worst case, here's a fun alternative.
Both of you bring your armies, but switch off who's playing what. You take your opponent's army; they take your blenderbus force. Show them using their own army how you'd fight your army, from deployment to victory conditions.
Also, bear in mind the scenarios can help balance things without changing your list. Some scenarios will put your blenderbus at a heavy disadvantage, Watchtower comes to mind. IIRC, the one with random-roll deployments can screw your blenderbus by putting the bus on the opposite side of the field from the blender.

thezildo , If you r friend likes Grimm and if he has Irondrakes, then definitely get him to field 19 Irondrakes (with a rune of slowness) with Grimm in the unit. With him granting re-rolls to hit on their shots, they will brutalise things (especially as they can move and shoot without penalty) and it's a much better use of his abilities than buffing an organ gun (leave that for a normal engineer). They do potentially need to be within the range of the Hammerers Groth 'stubborn' banner to definitely ensure they don't run. Honestly, Irondrakes, with Grimm, are as close to broken a unit as the dwarves can field (though i'd rate them as competitively hard rather than broken). As a bonus, with the Iron drakes, he should also be able to fit in an Organ gun if he wants. This is the link to the dwarf tactica article. eefl.freeforums.net/post/21584/threadThis is a link to a specific Irondrake post (to encourage him to get some if he doesn't have any) eefl.freeforums.net/post/9479/threadThis a link to a post comparing core choices: eefl.freeforums.net/post/43278/thread

Another thing that you could do is when your friends are over playing each other offer both of them advice on what you would do in their shoes or debrief after their game focusing on what they could do differently. I really would advise perhaps playing smaller games between 1200 - 1600 that's what my friend and I do and we still have some epic battles. As a wise man once said anyone can beat up stuff with a blender lord vampire, but it takes skill to do the same with a goblin. Change up the hero choices, I think we get too hung up on having the killiest lord out there
