I’m very well thank you! Late, of course. But our ancestors wrote letters that took 8 months to get round the world, so I hope we can manage.
The frostheart is amazing. I was very late getting my own model and avoided it essentially because I felt the flaming banner was important enough to justify taking 5-6 dragon princes. But these were probably the weakest part of the army. I’ve since drafted in a frostheart in their place.
It’s amazing. 1) it gives enemies a reason not to roll a cab ball through your Prince and his bus. 2) -1 strength is so huge in Knight-on-Knight combats. Excellent synergy with good armour saves. 3) it’s hard to kill so can act as a roadblock. 4) consistent high strength attacks on T6 is certainly something the dragon princes couldn’t do and see very helpful in an army which otherwise relies on T3 characters with good armour saves. 5) Ethereal undead lists weep. 6) Terror. 7) ASL turns your units into witch elf murderers. Just don’t let Hellebron near it.
Obviously, the banner of the world dragon is a hard counter to this monster. Avoid HE BSBs!
My first game with it (and my first in years) will take place later this month. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts, I always enjoyed following your thread, along with swordmasters, on Ulthan. It definitely influenced how I played high elves (not that I’ve used them in many years now). I seem to think you were London based. If so and if you are ever in the South East, there are a number of us still playing at SELWG.
