Great work here, love the green!! The weapon blades look NMM .. or is it a tricky use of highlighting?... That Phoenix.. is superb!, I would actually not mind dying to that if it were on the table... :-D Cheers, Mithril ++EDIT++ i went back to the start of the thread and gee wowzers this army is hella cool, the BSB noble is my favourite model so far but it's all so well done!! Thank you! The weapon blades are actually TMM, I followed this video for the axes on my White Lions what feels like forever ago and have used it on every model since!

I really like your painting (I’ve probably said it before). The handmaiden and shadow warriors are superb.

I really like your painting (I’ve probably said it before). The handmaiden and shadow warriors are superb. Thank you so much! I am particularly happy with how the Shadow Warriors came out, I'll have to shoehorn them into a list soon to give them some table time. Nice paint jobs. Army is starting to be complete now? Definitely over the halfway point, mostly larger models now! I have the following remaining: - 11x Silver Helms (riders are mostly done)
- 10x Dragon Princes of Caledor
- 5x Ellyrian Reavers
- 1x Tiranoc Chariot
- 2x Great Eagles
- 1x Noble on Griffon (rider painted)
- 1x Flamespyre Phoenix (magnetized for with and without rider)
- 1x Dragon (riders magnetized)
- Alarielle the Radiant
- Eltharion the Grim
- Alith Anar the Shadow King
- Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan
- Imrik, Lord of Dragons (4E)
- Imrik, Crown Prince of Caledor (6E)
- Lothern Sea Helm (just finishing touches left)
- 2x Archmages/Mages (classic guy with one hand throwing the \m/ horns, and the female mage on elemental base)
- 3x Princes/Nobles (axe and shield, longbow and Prince Althran)
I also want to kitbash a mounted noble BSB that is similar to my other one with Sisters of Avelorn bits to fit the theme of the army, I'm just not sure how to go about it just yet. I have a sweet cavalry list I'd love to play at some point so I definitely should get on that. Let’s see some army shots again! Great looking army, well done! I'll see if I can get all the painted models out on a table at some point soon! Would give me an excuse to finish painted some movement trays and add some grass to some bases. Maybe I should do a photo or two of the unpainted stuff as well. I recently bought a Lizardmen army on impulse so I might start a plog for them soon for something different.

Loving that handmaiden, the face looks very well done, despite the finecast issues. Not an easy model to come by btw.

Hiya folks, long time since last update. The weather in the UK got really hot which made painting very uncomfortable and difficult to do for long periods. I also suffered from a lack of motivation but I am past that now and back to painting. I've finished a few models since my Handmaiden so let's go through them. Alarielle, the RadiantI finally mustered the courage to put paint on this model. I'm not 100% happy with the finished product but honestly I'm just fighting the sculpt and the awful properties of finecast at this point. She reads well from a distance which is the main thing and she's ready to hit the battlefield. Lothern Sea HelmThis model had sat unfinished for months, no idea why I didn't just hit the last bits on his base at the time but he didn't take long to complete and I'm very pleased with him, maybe one of my best painted models yet. Isle of Blood Hero on GriffonAnother model that I'd painted 75% of and then just dropped for some reason, so it was good to go back and finish him off fully. I ended up changing some parts; the wings on his helmet were originally gold, but I decided they'd look much better in the green and white pattern present on a lot of my army, and it was definitely the right decision. The griffon took forever to paint, mostly due to edge highlighting every single feather on each wing, which was basically doing the same thing four times, mind-numbingly boring (ah, I think I remember why I stopped painting him now). He looks fab though and I look forward to bringing him in a list at some point. Archmage on Elemental BaseMy most recently finished model and a lovely sculpt. Bizarrely, it's one of the only obviously female models for a generic lord/hero role in the entire High Elves range so she stands out a lot. The base was a lot of fun to paint as well. I have quite a few mages now, certainly more than I'll ever need. Maybe I'll commit to it fully and pick up the sculpts I'm missing to paint up one for each lore. Currently I'm working on finishing my Silver Helms after abandoning them. They're bloody awful models to paint but I'm going to persevere and get them done so that I can start making cavalry-centric lists. I have two boxes of Dragon Princes waiting for some attention as well. I need to convert up a mounted BSB, I'd like it to be similar to my on-foot model which uses a Sister of Avelorn as the base. Does anyone have any recommendations for bits to use? I was thinking maybe some Wood Elf bits, perhaps from the Glade Riders kit. I'm pretty sure I have a Sister torso and head to use.

Awesome looking army! Each individual model is painted to an impressive standard, and it all works together perfectly. An impressive force for sure, you can be proud!
Looking forward to more from you already!

Lothern boss is looking amazing! You should be proud of him. Incredible work on a quality sculpt.
Commendable patience with the griffin but worth it when you look at your result.

Speedpainted two Great Eagles for a 2000pt game against Bretonnians earlier this week with a new opponent that I recently found. Unfortunately it didn't go my way and it was a pretty decisive loss, but I'm very unfamiliar with Bretonnians so I look forward to learning the matchup better as we play some more games. Just have the horses to paint on my Silver Helms so hopefully I'll have an update with them soon!

Awesome looking eagles, wouldn't say they look speed painted at all. Love this kit by the way, a true blessing for any high elf player.

Last night I finished my Silver Helms and Prince on elven steed. I started these back in June and almost immediately realized they weren't going to be fun to paint. I kept putting them down for weeks or a month at a time and in the end I really had to force myself to get them done. It's the first time in this project that I've hit a wall and it was a strong one. I'm incredibly relieved to have finished them and the end result is pretty good; the horses were basically just speedpainted, but the gems and metals help them punch up slightly I think. I know for sure I won't be painting any more of these; if I need more I'll make unit filler or hold out in the unlikely hope that we get new ones for The Old World. There's no way I could paint a second unit of them, I'd sooner pay someone to paint them for me than go through that again! There's 11 in total with full command which is a decent size unit that should hopefully serve well as a character bus; the plan is to have musician, banner, fully kitted Prince and Noble BSB in the front with an Archmage of High Magic pushed to the second rank to rack up the ward save, or perhaps Life for the buffs and restoring models that might be lost before getting to charge. The Prince has his weapon arm magnetized, you can see his spear off to the side in one of the photos. A friend has the lance bit put aside for me so I'll do that at some point as well. I have about 40 models left to paint for this project, so I'm nearing the end! Still left I have: - Sisters of Avelorn x20
- Dragon Princes x10
- Ellyrian Reavers x5
- Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower x2 (1 is mostly done)
- Tiranoc Chariot x1
- Hero with Axe
- Hero with Longbow
- Prince Althran on Foot
- Alith Anar, the Shadow King
- Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan
- Eltharion the Grim
- Prince Imrik 4E
- Prince Imrik 6E
