Rules Clarifications - Dogs of War
Note that the Dogs of War army list is not always allowed on tournaments. Each tournament organizer should clarify if they are allowed or not.
1. Army Selection- Ignore all rules for the number of lords, heroes, core, special and rare choices you can/must include in your army.
2. Pay Master- Since the Pay Master carries a standard he is allowed to take a magic standard for his normal magic item allowance (50 points). Note that this does not prevent him from taking other magic items as most other battle standard bearers
3. PikesReplace the pike rules in the army list with these rules:
Pike - Combat As user / +1* Requires two hands, Always strike first**, Fight in three extra ranks***
*A pike's strength bonus only applies when the bearer is attacking charging cavalry, monstrous cavalry, chariots or monsters.
**A pike only strikes first in the first round of any combat. When fighting an enemy with always strike first, no unit may re-roll to hit, but the enemy will strike before the pikemen.
***Models armed with Pikes fights in three more ranks than normal. This means that a total of 5 ranks of model can fight enemies to the front (6 ranks if horde formation).
4. Regiments of Renown- Bronzino's Galloper Guns
Bronzino must be deployed simultaneous as the cannons (and all other war machines), but can be deployed anywhere. Note that he is free to join other units if he wishes. Victory points are awarded for the cannons and Bronzino separately (Bronzino is considered to be worth 65 points and each cannon 100 points).
- Long Drong's Slayer Pirates
The Slayer Pirates are considered to be armed with a single pistol each. In close combat they fight with additional hand weapon and strength 4 armour piercing attacks.
- Mendil Manhide's Manflayers
Use the rules for repeater crossbows from the 7th edition Dark Elves army book (i.e. range 24", strength 3, multiple shots 2, armour piercing). Their dark venom gives them poisoned attacks.
5. Special characters- Borgio the Besieger
When Borgio is returned to life, place him as close as possible to his initial position, but more than 1" from other units. If Borgio died when joined to a unit, instead place him back into that unit in his initial position.
- Lorenzo Lupo
Ignore the second sentence on Ring of Luccina, this item works exactly as all other bound spells.
- Mydas the Mean
Mydas counts as the mandatory Pay Master a dogs of war army must include.
The pay chest can not join units.
All units within 6" from the Pay Chest may re-roll failed leadership tests
- Lucrezzia Belladonna
Roll all her pre-game abilities after deployment.
For the stunning beauty rule, the following Dogs of War units does not counts as human:

Characters joined to any of these units will not change this, likewise, a non human character joined to a human unit will not prevent the unit from counting as a human unit.
If a human unit (including Lucrezzia Belladonna or her unit) is ever fleeing when within 8" of her, they immediately rally. They move 0", get to reform and are free to move and shoot in your next turn. If they fled from combat (and no enemy rolled higher on their pursuit move), move the as little as possible but enough to be 1" away from other units (in the direction of the flight move), they then automatically rally. Pursuing enemies can not pursuit into this unit and will stop 1" away (normally this means they will move 0").
