Went to the GW store today and fondled the sprues some. This box is amazing. The Familiars are beyond sexy, so full of character. And so many other good models and nice floor sections that are just slightly bigger than the old Quest set. I think they will be compatible if you want to do a crossover.
I preordered a set and got some nice freebie extra shiny character cards.

I picked it up yesterday at Millenium - if you get it this weekend you get bonus premium foil character sheets and an eye of tzeentch coin. Amazing number of really great minis but it's a big price tag at $150 Also they have released downloadable content for all the currently produced AoS characters (many of whom have 8th ed model equivalents I think) so you can use any of them in your WHQ games. it costs something for each but in the old days we had to buy each additional character pack as well so that hasn't changed just instant gratification now. Here's a nice review from Ben Curry of Bad Dice: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEmOEz1LHR8

I'm so excited about this. I loved the original WQ and the rules for this new version seem awesome. I love the 4 Wounds mechanic which correlates with your actions and how you roll dice each turn. Super excited for this. And who doesn't love mutant Goblins??
Gary, what about a WQ: Silver Tower event for Friday night at Da Boyz??

I have 24 of those mutant goblins coming my way this week. I'm thinking they could make a nice homebrew skirmish unit in laid back 8th edition, and/or counts-as Spider Riders in more formal 9th Age play. In addition to their Quest duties of course.

I would love to have it happen. Note Kevin Maggitti has offered to run a blood bowl tournament on Friday I would love to have a bunch of retro events at various times throughout the weekend.
Coleman man you better be coming this year while things may change I think in a lot of ways this may be the most old school event in ages. Bloodbowl warhammer quest, two day mega battles it's going to be completely awesome.
EDIT because apparently I couldn't type English this afternoon.

Gary, I fully intend on coming, however, because of the nature of my job, I might have to cancel at the last minute ;(

I might go on eBay and grab a few of the models. I'm interested in the priest and hound, the chieftain, and the Stormcast knight.

Thanks for the MengalMiniature's link! Never heard of those lads before, good stuff. There's a four hero expansion pack coming up for those interested. [/quote] There's rumors of an upcoming second hero expansion pack along with a undead box expansion in December.
