Hi All
I need suggestions about my list. Especially how can i protect my mages?
I bunk them in to 10 spearmen but i experienced that this is not enough.
Most spells and even a stone thrower hit wipe out the unit

Do you definitely want two level 4s? Personally would say drop one for a level 2 high mage, put it in the the pheonix guard to give 3++ save on cast. This would also free up points to bulk out the spearelves as well for a better bunker. You only have so many power dice so it's hard to justify spending that much on magic at 2500pts.

I agree, seems overkill on magic. If you were desperate for 2 casters you could swap one for a loremaster giving you lots of low power level spells and also a fightier option.

I don’t mind running two mages occasionally due to the versatility of spells you get (and after running dwarves for so long I went the other way!).
That said, if I was going to run them in this list, I’d drop the spearmen altogether and either put them in a bigger unit of archers or have two units of archers so one was in each. It still feels like they would be vulnerable though.

I think the problem may be the strategy of 2 level 4 mages in a unit of 10 spearmen. If I saw that the. Everything I own would be targeting that unit. I would agree that 2 level 4 mages does seem a bit of overkill for magic and they are also rather naked. The BoH is nasty and should be taken every time, but get something else on them too. And if the second mage is a scroll caddy the drop his levels down, if he is there to cast spells then give him a ward save.

So what are you facing? And what models/units do you have access too?
I like both lore of shadow, lore of life and lore of high magic.
I agree one level 4 is enough and back that up with a level 2 high that goes with cheap spells in phoenix guard.

I like the list, but is your plan to put both mages in the 10-man spear unit? I don't like that idea. Too many eggs...
I'd prefer a larger bodyguard, but even so I'd keep it one mage with them.

2 archmages seems real overkill.
If you want a lord level second caster , then I'd go for a lore master. Great utility, extra dice but with a bit of protection and punch.
As for bunkers I've never been keen on them at all. If I'm running a mage he's either going in my big block of spears and he has a good ward save (and high magic). Or he's mounted in a 3 wide silver helm dart so he pops to second rank

To address parts of your list specifically...

Keep your lv4 shadow. A lot of shadow spells support HEs so effectively. Consider using him in the archers as a bunker, moving up with your force to cast on your combat stuff.
Take the other down to a level 2 with high and scroll. He will sit in the phoenix guard and buff the wardsave. He'll die eventually however likely to have used his scroll by then and ensured your PGs get in to combat reletively unscathed.

Drop the light armour, they're going to die anyway. Consider musician for swift reform to keep the unit mobile.

Bow and spear is pricey, is it worth the st3 shots? I think not, but your choice.
Silver Helms [194pts]: Standard Bearer . 8x Silver Helm: 8x Shields
What is the point here? Either save some points and drop down to 5 as a harrassing unit or, go up to 10 with full command as a block to flank charge stuff. I'd go for the latter.
Spearmen [90pts]: 10x Spearman
Can't see the benefit of these either drop entirely or, bulk up to be a deep block to hold with steadfast. 25 or 30 is a good number, with full command.

Phoenix Guard [385pts]: 25x Phoenix Guard, Standard Bearer
Fine, why not full command? For the points well worth it for a mainline unit. If you have points, razor standard is nice here.
White Lions of Chrace [431pts]: 27x White Lion . Champion . Musician . Standard Bearer: AB - Banner of the World Dragon
27 is an odd number. Run the 6 or 7 wide so either 24 or 28 strong if you want 4 ranks. Personally I like 18 as a number in ranks of 6.
