Ogres do seem the most natural army for those to fit in. What base size would they fit on? If they can squeeze onto a cavalry base, maybe alternate Sabretusks. But otherwise I think your Rhinox idea is nearly right - I'd suggest maybe going with the slightly smaller unridden Mournfang instead, as you say they're not quite Rhinox sized. Mournfang were in the Scrolls of Binding Compendium as a Storm of Magic choice.

cavalry base doesn't quite work. not so much width (they are only a tiny bit too beefy) but length. basically the entire head+neck would hang over. They could go on a 50x50 set a bit diagonally, so mottdon's Razorgor is an option. and the Thunderous Charge special rule jives nicely with the model.
They fit comfortably on 50x75 and would look a little lost on a chariot base. that's a bit of a downer for the mournfang (good call!)/rhinox SoM route. I guess they would make a good draft beast for a scraplauncher or ironblaster, that one is pulled by a baby rhinox afterall. But, I don't think I want three of those...or do I?!?

Three scraplaunchers sounds like converting heaven. Plus Ogre kits give you lots of spare Gnoblars to use up.

I actually like the Scraplauncher idea. You could save the Rinoxes that way and start some Rinox Cav.

Thanks for the brainstorming, sedge and mottdon. I think the answer can be 'all of the above', i.e. Razorgor and scraplauncher (though the latter would be a complete bash up, no spare baby rhinox for me. And yes, like any ogre player I have a bag of spare gnoblars as crew).
Well, NOW it is time for new adventures in April.
