Is there an effort or project of trying to give units in AOS, warcry etc 8th rules (besides making the units "count as" existing 8th units)?

Warhammer Armies Project. I love WAP but is he doing this? I thought he was just incorporating some units into his 9th books?

Maybe that's what I've seen, the occasional new unit...
I can't imagine the sigmarines being incorporated in to the Empire (most logical choice?).
Someone would have to make them as a separate/new army.
Personally, I would not "want" this. But if someone genuinely wanted to use them (and went to the trouble of basing them on squares 😂)... I'd play vs. the gold d;ldos.

I'd play vs. the gold d;ldos. Absolutely agree on the sigmarines. I dont know i was thinking more of a compendium listing out the units, with 8th rules and points and what (if any) 8th armies they would be compatible with. Example something like iron golem warcry models, rules and points updated to 8th, what they are compatible with (WoC, maybe CD) etc

They seem to be more in line with Ogres than anything else. Perhaps best used as proxy Ogres.

I've written some rules for AOS models for 8th edition, including a Stormcaste army list and other stuff, here: WFB rules
