Disclaimer : I'm aware of cannons. Lol. Also, I dont enjoy meta cookie cutter lists.
I made this list because I've been wanting to run a Hunter with Sabretusks because I like the models and their rules. I also chose Beasts on the Slaughtermaster to take advantage of the Lore Attribute. Its not a full on monster mash list but its got several targets for the Spells.
Ogres 2500pts
Slaughtermaster 385pts - lvl 4 (Beasts) Greedy Fist, Sword of Striking, Talisman of Preservation
Bruiser BSB 191pts - Armor of Silvered Steel, Iron Curse Icon, great weapon
Hunter 180pts - Shield of Ptolos, Warrior Bane, Longstrider, Lt armor
Butcher 125pts - lvl 1 (Maw) Dispell Scroll _____________________
10 Ironguts 480pts - fc, Standard of Discipline, Look out gnoblar (Gen,BSB here)
4 Ogres 148pts - Champ, Bellower, Iron fists (Butcher goes here) _________________
4 Mournfang Cav 355pts - fc, hv armor, Ironfists, Razor Standard
4 Sabretusks 84pts (Hunter goes here)
2 Separate Sbaretusks 42pts
1 Gorger 90pts _______________
Thundertusk 250pts
Ironblaster 170pts
Like I said, I dont like net lists so character load outs are different. I also don't like hiding characters behind command models either. I feel like it goes against the intentions of the game itself. What general (besides skaven lol) would hide behind his troops?
Let me know what you think.

There’s nothing wrong with it if it is what you want to play. You know your table and play style better than anyone else so if you aren’t looking for one of those cookie cutter lists then feedback here might be difficult to come by without knowing who you are playing against and what your opponent typically brings (if you know that ahead of time). I usually like having 5 of something in a unit whenever possible to avoid having to take a panic test from one guy dying. You are good with the core ogres but the Mournfang could be an expensive unit to lose if they take 3 wounds from shooting. It could be worth adjusting to fit one more Mournfang in there for that extra protection. Probably would come at the expense of the gorger if I had to guess but not sure if that’s an option or if you are set on wanting a gorger in there. I also don’t get much benefit from my sabertusk aside from chaff but your mileage may vary and seeing as that is a core part of your decision making, I’m sure it does. But on the whole, is an ogre list. Lots of chonky bois with some big scaries to go along with it. I feel that ogres can hold their own against any army with just about any list. Obviously some exceptions come up but I’m speaking in generalities on that.

I try and make "all-rounder" type lists. Not tailored to any one opponent. I do go up against a lot of Dwarf, High elf, O&G, and Demon lists tho.
You're right about potential panic on the Mournfang. Theyre a juicy target in every Ogre list. I do want to keep the Gorger. Besides extra Sabretusks, Ogres really don't have any war machine hunters. But the Gorger can help in that department, granted I don't roll bad and he doesn't show up.
The Hunter could fill this roll as well. He can catch opponents off guard with his Vanguard,Longstrider and Swift Stride.

It’s helped me out a few times against them. The dwarf player I go against plays as a dwarf parking lot tho so I know I NEED to get there quick. Sabertusks do help too tho. Hopefully your high elf player hasn’t though to use lore of shadows against your big fatties yet. I’ve grown to hate that lore.
