Shades deployed to charge into units with low-end wizards also work well. 2x3 can deliver all their attacks straight onto said wizard. If said wizard is in a block of troops on the front line, small units of witches can also be effective wizard-killers. Don't put champions in these units to avoid challenge shenanigans. And yes, any and all anti-magic effects you can shoehorn into your army will help. Just a side note vulcan. Remember champions can refuse challenges without any penalties. Only characters are forced to accept or be moved to the back rank.

Musician at most for the free reform.

Doomfire warlocks are a possible addition to your army against VC. I am due to play against my mates VC and I'm going to be applying some of the tactics discussed in the thread after the battle I'll evaluate and feedback here.

Doomlocks might be the best unit in the game after deamon prince. As you actually can kill them people don’t complain so much but they are like 130p… I think they might still be playable at 250p 😋

Quick update: I have played quite a lot against Dwarfs now with my elves, but the next game against VC will be sooner than later. I painted earlier in the summer the Pegasus Master and Shades, which have both been useful against Dwarfs, and I anticipate that they will be useful against VC as well. However, I have changed my mind about the Executioners: I will definitely use 40 of them, as soon as I find around 20 more of those old metal models anywhere with a reasonable price.
About Warlocks: I agree, I never go without them to any game. I think they are my most used unit with Dark Riders (= always on board). I find that 5 of them is the most cost-efficient way to play, having more of them just doesn't really boost them enough unless you go all-in. But they are indeed effective against VC.
