So the plan for this list is simple; deliver the Big K into someones face as swiftly as possible, use flanking units like Captasus and the Demis to tie down fast moving enemies or backline stuff and try and keep the Luthor/Karl bus from being flanked. The level 4 backseats from the big knight bus with Luthor and Karl riding shotgun in an attempt to cram as many eggs as possible into a regenerating basket, ideally Throne of Vines either absorbs enough dispel dice to annoy my opponent or goes through and lets me stop worrying and love the miscast.
The Greatswords are there to place a big roadblock to the buses flank, they can't be Terror shocked, are nightmarish to remove until either all the Greatswords or the Captain dies and they provide the Luminark and the Hurricanum something to hide behind. The Greatsword knights are there because I like them and they provide a second place for Karl and Friends to hide when things go 1+ tits up or just for a cheeky place to deploy if the ICK block ends up deployed in a bad place.
I've spread Magic resistance throughout the list and called off my previous plan of having the Level 4 carry the Mace of Helstrum (lol, 1 Supporting S10/D3 wounds attack every round WOULD have been funny) in favour of the Shielding scroll for some Lore of metal blunting or to piss off anyone who uses flames of the Phoenix/Curse of Years.
I feel like Life is the ideal pick for this list because I have a decent number of multi-wound targets and expensive-ish units to regrow and heal, boosting the Emperors toughness should see him live long enough to swing and Huss can fairly reliably spend an entire combat turn at T7-10 depending on the magic dice and his roid rage roll.
Thoughts? Would a very odd light council be better? I can drop the Level 4 for an Arch Lector on War Altar and use the Staff of Sorcery and a squad of Light Wizards to give Karl and his Squad ASF. alternatively I can go Beasts instead to try and roll up 7 Ghal Maraz attacks or is Shadow a possible dark horse victor for the ability to drop enemy WS and Initiative below Karl?
