Greetings, Fellow EEFLers! This thread will chronicle my progress on an Albion army, which I am creating using the fantastic list designed by Lord of Skull Pass. For what it's worth, the current planned army list is here. I'm aiming to get this army done relatively quickly, which by my usual pace means that it will be painted at a snail's pace rather than a slug's pace. As part of this I will be cutting a few corners, and as far as possible I'm using Citadel Contrasts as my main paints, along with metallics and others (I mostly use Vallejo Model Colour and Reaper paints). Watch this space!

Wow! These look fantastic. I'm impressed with the quality you've been able to achieve using Contrast Paints - the thinner consistency of the latter makes it even more impressive when they are used so precisely!

Great-looking Linebreakers - all ready to troll a charging enemy! Glad to see you're using the Victrix models too, they're fantastic and highly affordable for buying in the numbers required for a Fantasy Albion army! I've been meaning to chat about your list but my new job means time's scant for me right now. I look forward to seeing the rest of your force take shape!

Thank you both very much! It occurred to me that updating the post to include links to the products in question would be a good idea - done!

Thank you very much for asking. I haven't got any further with them yet, as I recently got distracted by some chaos warriors. I hope to get back to the Albionites soon!

Finally got some Albionites done: eight shieldmaidens, who will be conveniently doing double-duty as Albionite Tribal Nobles for WFB and a Warrior unit for my valkyrie-themed viking warband for Saga. The figures are Shieldmaiden Infantry from Shieldwolf Miniatures.

Dude, these are so lit. The models themselves are really cool, but your paint job has just brought them to life.

The figures are Shieldmaiden Infantry from Shieldwolf Miniatures. Great to see you carrying on with your Albion project again! Personally I would have given these some spare Celtic shields, perhaps from the Victrix kits, as the ones they currently have look far more Norse than Albionite, but then maybe they've recently killed some Norse and took their shields from them, as some Saxons did at Stamford Bridge so that at Hastings their battleline was a mix of Saxon and Viking shields. Certainly their armour makes them perfect as Tribal Nobles, and mixing these with the Victrix Gallic Armoured Warriors would perfectly represent the egalitarian Celtic approach to army structure!

Thank you, folks! Yeah, I vacillated a bit over what shields to use, but decided in the end to go with the Shieldwolf ones as these ladies will also be serving in my valkyrie warband for Saga. As you say, they clearly picked up their shields at Stamford bridge...

Holy threadomancy, Batman! In the mists of Albion, there is a distant rumbling. Something big is coming... I am reminded of how poorly the Oldhammer metal minis fitted together.

More Greenstuff work. Gaps are now fixed up, and the chariot now has straps for attaching grumpy boars to.
