Maybe if I post up some images of other painting projects, that will distract them from the fact that I haven't made more progress on my armies...
As Mr chaosreigns can tell you, I'm a bit of a hobby butterfly, bouncing between projects rather than being good at focusing on one and getting it done. I suspect I'm not the only one who has this tendency. Recently, while also working on chaos warriors and Albionites, I've also been adding more to my ever-growing wood elf forces, so here are the latest additions! Ahnslaine from the Warhammer Underworlds warband, who will be part of my Saga Age of Magic Wild Hunt warband: And a mischievous winter fairy, from Reaper, who will likely be acting as a marker for spell effects and the like when appropriate:

These both rock, but I like the winter fairy the most! The use of cold colours to convey a kind of frosty aesthetic is really well done. Also, the blue highlights on black look really great. hivefleetmanticore if you wouldn't mind letting me know your method (and colours used) when you get a minute I would appreciate it (I believe it will be helpful for painting my brother's Angmar army for LotR - in particular I think Nazgul with black robes highlighted with blue as you've done would be really cool given the 'wintry' theme of the army).

Thank you! The black was done by firstly using GW Contrast Black Templar, then edge highlighting with three shades of blue. In this case, I used Reaper Brilliant Blue (a dark blue, despite the name), then Vallejo Flat Blue, then Vallejo Deep Sky Blue. I loosely based the method on one used by Juan Hidalgo (whose work I have been increasingly inspired by recently)... www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XqKB6uOhZk&ab_channel=JuanHidalgoMiniatures...but using more blue paints. The same three shades of blue were used for the colour progression on the wings. as well as being the palette for the eyes and lips. For the skin, I used the two lighter colours of Reaper's Fair Skin Triad, then a glaze of Reaper Deep Sky Blue, then a final highlight of Reaper Linen White. Metallic highlights on black were done using Vallejo Gunmetal Blue, then a mix of that with silver. I hope that this is helpful!

Thank you, folks! Yeah, the branchwych gave me an opportunity to practice some more blending, which I'm trying to get better at.

Happy New Year, Everyone! So here are the last things I painted in 2021: A cute little autumn familiar to go with my winter fairy. Spring and summer will get done eventually... The figure is a dark elf familiar from the Bones 5 Kickstarter, not commercially available yet, as far as I know. And I finished a unit of Namarti Reavers: This completes my Wild Hunt themed warband for Saga: Age of Magic: Better photos in my private gallery here.

Thank you very much, folks! Early this month my wife and I painted up these cute little guys for use in Rangers of Shadowdeep (hers on the left, mine on the right): The figures are from the Reaper Tree of Despair kit, though you can also buy them separately now. The base details (wheel and sign) are from an old Wyrd Miniatures Malifaux set.

I just added a dragon rider to my WFB wood elf army: Another picture here. The dragon is a Nolzur's Marvellous Miniatures Young White Dragon. The rider is the elf dragon master that never looked right on this dragon. The rider's shield is from an old dark elf cold one knight, while the banner was taken from the high elf griffon rider from the Island of Blood set. It was a fun kitbash.
