I'm currently looking to put together rules for this beast from the Idoneth Deepkin. I figure it can fight with Dogs or War or one of the three elven factions. Any ideas? It's a flying monster with some elven weapons so has some crossover with the Lother Sky Cutter. I'm thinking total points cost around the 300 mark similar to an Aracknarok spider. I'm writing my own rules for a fourth Elven faction, Sea Elves, based upon the Idoneth units and the old 3rd Edition concepts of Sea Elves before they were folded into the Lothern Sea Guard, so if you don't mind using fan-made rules I'll be happy to give you a shout when the list is finished.

I started writing an army list a while back, but never posted it. I'll see if I can dig it up...

Troop Type: Monster.
Unit Size: 1
Number of Crew: 2

Special Rules: Sea Creature, River Strider, Hover, Terror, Always Strikes First (Akhelian Warriors only), Impact Hits (D6+1).
Armoured Shell: An Akhelian Leviadon has a 2+ armour save.
Harpoon Launcher: The Harpoon Launcher may be fired by the Akhelian Warrior crew in the same manner as a bolt thrower. The Harpoon Launcher may fire even if the Akhelian Leviadon moved this turn.

Did I miss the draft points? Iirc it was 300? Or I might be tripping. Anyway, I'm going to be using these with some alterations. There are 4 crew on the Leviadon but one is on the drums so it will have 3 crew attacks. The model has 2 Harpoon launchers on it so I will use as 2 bolt throwers but they are smaller so will only be strength 5. Also will count as having a musician as the model has the guy playing the epic drums. Will utilise your stats etc and profiles. Maybe 350 points will let you know.

That sounds all fine to me. It was a mere draft and I didn't put a points value on it yet. 300 is probably right. Let me know how it goes....

That sounds all fine to me. It was a mere draft and I didn't put a points value on it yet. 300 is probably right. Let me know how it goes.... Ok, had a quick skirmish game with 2 of them which was fun. Ignore the round bases . I'm base agnostic but play 8th. Played them at 350 points each, both ended up being killed by the Blood Thirster but second one charged and could have killed with impact hits. Blood Thirster (controlled by me, opponent used the elves) had the extra attack axe which made a difference. Both of them fled but the double harpoon Launcher with BS 5 makes them dangerous and viable. Mid game I double looked at the profile you posted and changed how we were playing as originally I was doing ws4 and bs4, and also they had a stand and shoot. We played them as leadership 8 due to elves and I feel this is how they should be. I think that's probably what you meant there as well? Both ended up fleeing in the battle so I considered cold blooded or stubborn but after pondering I think it works. The musician did cause a combat win . We played them as strength 3 first half of game as I thought that's what you had them as till I noticed in second last turn. Strength 4 hw makes it easy, I was doing the thing with 1 guy having a spear (main guy) but it's a hassle and 4 crew each having strength 4 makes it simple. Definitely not OP and the impact hits means they are an interesting choice to utilise in melee. I really appreciate you taking the time to make up these draft rules for this ace model. Looked at Ogre Kingdoms rule for harpoon Launcher and think that fits here (going back on my earlier strength 5 suggestion). As harpoon Launcher is established via that book I think it works. 36 inch range, Strength 6 D3 wounds but no stand and shoot. Rules we will play it as posted below. All made possible due to your awesomeness.

Points 350 ----------I'd like what you've done with it, especially the armored shell rules. LD 8 on the Elf crew is fine, especially if you are merely adding it to your Elf army. I was (and I'll get back to it) writing rules for an underwater race (long before AOS) and was updating it to include the new models from AOS sea elves. Anyway, the LD 6 comes from the idea that their home is deep under water and out of the surface they are more vulnerable in terms of their psychology.

Points 350 Have further tweaked the Leviadon rules after further battles and playtesting. Final version (probably) is below. It's a pretty fun unit and mostly has been used as a Dark Elf ally. Thematically it works great with a Lokhir Fellheart pirate force. It performed admirably in last nights multiplayer battle (until hammerers and a dwarf lord killed it). I keep forgetting about the multi wound halving rule during gameplay so have just removed it for simplicity and given it an extra wound instead which fits the massive model. Close combat offensive capabilities boosted slightly and tail attack to match the bladed massive tail of the model.
