Empire turn 1. All march forward, swords move to counter chariot. Mortar misfires (missed next turn). Archers kill one goblin spear.

Goblins turn 1: Fast guys moving for flank attack. Liberators hit once by bolt thrower but pass ward save.

Empire turn 2: Liberators continue march toward goblin spears. Swords angle to intercept chariot. Archers hit goblin war boss but he passed armor save.

Goblin turn 2: Chariot and war boss charge swords (boss gets flank). Goblin spears fail charge on liberators. Bolt throwers fail to hurt liberators again (one passed ward save). Chariot and boss do 8 wounds, captain puts 2 on chariot. Steadfast swords use hold the line to barely hold.

Empire turn 3: Mortar misfires again, dud. Archers do nothing. Captain finishes chariot in combat and goblin warboss flees. He outpaced the pursuing swordsmen by a mere inch. The liberators slam into the spear wall. Goblins inflict one wound while the liberators cause 9. The goblins with their BSB pass their steadfast roll.

Goblin turn 3: Gobbo boss rallies right in front if swords. Spear chuckas kebob 4 swordsmen. An archer is also skewered by a pointy log. In combat the liberators slay 8 goblins us their champion. They are unhurt in return. The brave gobbo spears pass another steadfast with their general now in the neighborhood.

Empire turn 4: Swords charge warboss. Mortar bounces off chucka (finally hit one though). Swords run down warboss while liberators continue to grind steadfast goblins, who still hold.

Goblin turn 4: Shooting kills 7 swordsmen who refuse to panic. Liberators kill 7 spears while goblins inflict another wound on the armored angels. Goblins hold!

Empire turn 5: Archers and swords both charge war machines. Mortar...misfire...miss next turn. In combat the archers and swords both bounce their war machine targets. The liberators kill some more goblins. The goblins might be glued to the table. They won't leave.

Rest of the game:
The liberators eventually killed the pesky goblin BSB, beat down some spears, break them, and chase. The goblins fled 12 and were lastly run off the table by the waiting swordsmen. The liberators mashed a goblin spear chucka.

End of battle: The liberators were, as predicted, very awesome...especially against goblins. The least valuable player... stupid misfiring mortar.

Did he shoot all 4 bolt throwers at the liberators in turns 1 and 2 and only hit with one each turn? With four bolt throwers seems like he could have done some decent damage on the way in but just didn't work out.
