Hello EEFL,
i want to play a HE Light Coven with Alariell and BoA. For this i want to get the rules right and i am wondering if a light spell that is cast on the big version (bubble) gets the +4 from the banner. Reading through the spells the wordings is different on the spells, its either "affect" or "target". Do both grant the +4 Bonus to cast on the basis that augment spells always target units in regard to the last pages of the rulebook in the section with the different spell type overview visualized in a table or am i missing something?
Any input is appreciated.

Off the top of my head, I think you get the +4 as long as the unit with the banner is within the bubble range.

Yes, they could have been more consistent in the wording here. Instead of "affect," the French version has "étendre cette protection" (extend this protection). That said, augment spells cannot affect a unit, unless they have targeted it. Boosted spells extend "the effective range, amount of damage caused or area of effect" (BRB p. 32), but all targeting rules still apply.
As we all know now, "Spells from the Lore of Light and the Lore of Life cast by a friendly Wizard that target a unit containing the Banner of Avelorn receive a +4 bonus to cast." So, any spell that targets a unit with the BoA will get the bonus, whether it also targets other units or not.
Note also that there are errors in the overview table, corrected by BRB Official Update Version 1.9, p. 5:
Reference Section – Spell Types, Augment/Needs line of sight? Change “Y” to “N”
Reference Section – Spell Types, Hex/Needs line of sight? Change “Y” to “N”
As it happens, these errata were only necessary in the English version!

To add: in the ABs, the phrase generally used for such a boosted version is: "The Wizard can choose to have this spell target all friendly units within X". The French version usually has "affecter" (to affect) here in stead of "cibler" (to target), e.g. the Toothcracker augment spell (Ogres AB, p. 60):
English: "The Wizard can choose to have this spell target all friendly units within 12"."
French: "Le sorcier peut à la place choisir d'affecter toutes les unités amies dans un rayon de 12"."
