Hi all, thanks in no small part to this forum and a couple of guys in my gaming group I've had my first game of WFB 8th for several years. A small 1500 point affair of my Wood Elves vs my associate Neil's Warriors of Chaos. To be honest many mistakes were made but a thoroughly good time was had. I will put up some of the pics here for your enjoyment; The horde of Y'mca a Nurgle Sorceror. Ready to clash! The Knights lost three of their number to dangerous terrain (probably my the most dangerous thing on the table was this wood). Fleeing! A series of errors in judgement caused this! Incredibly the Waywatchers come to the rescue. Many ill-advised charges were successful. In the end I squeaked a win. A full battle report can be found here on my blog.

Looks a fun, balanced game, though the link to your full battle report simply takes you to that last photo.
What are Beastmen doing serving Warriors of Chaos rather than fighting in their own army? Unless your opponent is using the Legions of Chaos list.

Unless your opponent is using the Legions of Chaos list. I have fixed the link thanks. The Beastmen are in the warriors of chaos army as both myself and my opponent are of a certain vintage that had the whole lot, Warriors, Beastmen and Daemons all allowed in the same force. He hasn't got a massive collection and asked if he could bulk up his army with a block of Beastmen. Next game he will add some daemons into the mix. I'm guessing the Legions of Chaos list is what, back in 1993 I just called a chaos army.

Not a fan personally because I wish to play Beastmen on their own, but for those who want to return to the days when Chaos was just one army list, then that's where to go in 8th.

Little late to the party. But I still like what's been left over...😁
As for Beastmen in WoC armies : this "alliance" was actually not quite uncommon in the lore. As beastmen were also called the true children of chaos while the others were "only" warshippers.
One such occassion was described in a whole book in the Felix&Gotrek series : Beastslayer. It illustrates the events during the Battle of Praag.
A warriors of chaos army under the mighty warlord Arek Daemonclaw, Heroe of Tzeentch, was massively reinforced by a huge army of beastmen and daemons of Tzeentch. He wanted to overrun the city of Praag in northern Kislev. Quite an entertaining story and the beasties played a prominent role...
