I feel kinda stupid since I cannot remember if I asked.. I think I only asked about Crossbows though..
What is a good source for bows? Preferrably clean, no hands on them. I want a couple Arrer Boyz - or orc boyz for Mordheim with bows. I guess I could look for those plastic models but kinda like making my own... I might put them in hands or on the back.. And they might be used in WFB as Arrer Boyz so...  |

If you want specifically bows for Orcs, it's certainly worth looking up bows from the current Savage Orc kit (which still look perfectly fine on standard Orcs if you avoid painting any tribal patterning) and bows from the ancient 5th Edition Night Goblin kit (whose hands are almost as big as those of the Brian Nelson Orc models and whose bows are also pretty chunky) - these are the bows I'm using to make my Arrer Boyz and look pretty decent on Orcs. Good suggestions! I did not even think of the Savage Orcs! Never been a fan of the models, any Savage Orc models so I was one of those ignoring them, going for looks over effectiveness (?).. Are they easy to somehow put on normal boyz? Those old Night Goblins are cool. Maybe to small bows? Ah! I might order those! Could always hang them on the backs and do quivers.. Hmm. Great stuff, thanks bud!
I was thinking about these too:
Should be easy to remove the hands. And glue them on Orc sheild arms or other? The design does not bother me, they are looted.. But I haven´t checked the Savage Orcs yet so... |
