Again these are some of the highlights for me from Warhammer World. As you can imagine, the 40k bits dwarfed the other items, so these are just a selection.
Buxe - starting off with some of the classics for you:
Ultramarines defending a mining operation vs Necrons
Example of one of the army displays, in this case Imperial Fists. You had something similar for every army in AOS and 40K
Sons of Horus allegedly just before they overran the Imperial fist outpost (lies!)
A very cool scene of Dark Angels attacking the forces of Nurgle. It included at least 3 Thunderhawk Gunships, including two in flight. I loved the rockets firing from one of them.
The Burning of Prospero. The 2 dreads fighting on the bridge was a highlight for me.
Random Sisters of Battle
Rynns World. Based on the iconic artwork
Tyranid attack on a Space Wolves Fortress. This is another one that had loads of cool details. The swarms climing up each other to bring down landspeeders, Some of them climbing cliffs to infiltrate outflow pips in the canyon, Spaces wolves leaping from their ships to join the fighting. The creature bursting through the floor of the fortress reminded me of Starship Troopers ;p.
Death Korps - awaiting the order to go over the trenches.
The Classic might of the Imperial Guard
It didn't mention it but this was blatantly Black Hawk Down
Cadians defending against Dark Elf (druchii? - I forget their name) raiders
Random Tau
Imperial Fists attacking a Titan forge (Yes more IF - what can I say I'm a sucker for yellow and they are my favourite chapter). Again I love how the missiles are firing from the titan.
This was their show-stopper display. It was massive and the one frustrating thing about it was the lighting. It would periodically change colours and none of them were bright enough to really show off the board. I would have preferred to have it brightly lit rather than the mood lighting. Never-the-less it was massive with an immense amount of detail. It was not dissimilar to how the Hogwarts model is displayed (if you've ever been on the studio tour in north London), though of course with a metric ton of violence .
So there you go, a selection of photos for anyone who won't have the opportunity to visit.
