I have a 2500 points battle coming up with a buddy if mine.
He plays DE and allmost exclusively goes with MSU lists where I have a hard time preventing him from outmaneuvering me with more standard ogre lists.
He usually gets my important infantry in such a position where he multiple charges me.
To combat this I thought it be fun to go all-out on range options. Tear his chaff to pieces and then start to whittle down his more important units.
I would really like some feedback especially on my characters/items.
Grut's Sickle is non-negotiable though, I've never used it before and I want to give it a whirl.
For the list:
++ Standard (Ogre Kindoms - Army Book (2013-4) -V8.8.1.) [2,500pts] ++
+ Lords +
Slaughtermaster [385pts]: Lore of Heavens, Wizard Level 4
. Magic Items: AB - Grut's Sickle, BRB - Armour of Destiny
The idea here is Grut's sickle for hopefully getting a lot done in my magic phase, armor of destiny for some protection. Lore of Heavens because it has some damage at range, and because I think Harmonic convergence as a bubble can make my shooting even stronger on the leadbelchers.
+ Heroes +
Bruiser [184pts]: Battle Standard Bearer, Heavy Armour
. Magic Items and Big Names: BRB - Enchanted Shield, BRB - Talisman of Preservation
Butcher [138pts]: Ironfist, Lore of the Great Maw, Wizard Level 1
. Magic Items: BRB - Crown of Command
+ Core +
Gnoblars [50pts]: Gnoblar Trappers, 10x Gnoblars
Gnoblars [50pts]: Gnoblar Trappers, 10x Gnoblars
My plan for the Gnoblars is to deploy them in front of my leadbelchers and have them act as a deterrent for charging the leadbelchers.
Ironguts [303pts]: 6x Ironguts
. Bellower
. Champion
. Standard Bearer: BRB - Standard of Discipline
standard guts block. all of the characters go here.
Ogres [222pts]: Bellower, Champion, Standard Bearer
. 6x Ogres: 6x Ironfists
+ Special +
Leadbelchers [268pts]: Bellower, 6x Leadbelchers
Leadbelchers [268pts]: Bellower, 6x Leadbelchers
Sabretusk Pack [21pts]: Sabretusks
Sabretusk Pack [21pts]: Sabretusks
The 2x 6 leadbelchers are the main part of the list I wanted to try, previously I've played 4 leadbelchers max in a list and was never quite impressed by them.
Theoretically the sabretusks could act as a way of slowing my opponents' advance, in practice they usually get killed by bolt throwers, which is fine aswell.
+ Rare +
Ironblaster [170pts]
Ironblaster [170pts]
Thundertusk [250pts]
The maximum ammount of shooting I can get in rare. I don't expect much from the Thundertusk here. Especially since I'm probably vs a MSU list, but it fits the theme of maximizing ranged damage.
++ Total: [2,500pts] ++
Curious what you guys think. I'm unsure about the items on the characters but points were tight.
