Nice. I saw a facebook post that there is a kill team league going on at Millennium.

What is Kill Team?

It's skirmish 40k. Players build a force out of a regular codex but each model acts as a unit of one. There are 6 missions, the game is played on a 4x4 table, and there are a few special rules that apply to a handful of "specialists" in the Kill Team. It's also been called LunchHammer because it can be played in about 30 minutes.

So, they were able to develop a 40k skirmish game by just modifying the normal rules?
Doesn't that usually require eliminating all previous rules, army books, models and fluff? I'm confused.

It looks really interesting. Watched the start of the Millenium league and am quite tempted. Reminds me of fast playing Necromunda and Mordheim games. They sell a 20 model starter box with the rules I think. Saw it at Millenium.

For around $60 you get a marine tac squad, a tau squad with sentry drones, kill team rules, and the full 40k rulebook.

Nah, that's only if it came with free rules as well. The very concept of GW giving something away for free was enough to cause the apocalypse of an entire fictional universe. Also, my friend Xathrodox posted a fun game of kill team a long time ago on his great blog: italwaysrainsinnuln.blogspot.com/2015/06/its-kill-team-time-tyranids-vs-imperial.html?m=1(He notes on his blog that October 6 was the 30th birthday of warhammer fantasy role-play as well. )
