Hey guys,
So, it has come to my attention that several people are turned off by this site because of the name - The REAL Warhammer Forum. We mean it as in, the REAL because it's all about 8th Edition as opposed to AOS. However, some people are taking REAL as in we are superior and other forums are inferior, which is not the intent at all.
Any thoughts on this? Should we change the name?
If so to what?
Maybe simply: "The Eighth Edition Warhammer Forum - Eighth Edition for Life (EEFL)" ?
Please share your thoughts on this...
Thanks.

I don't think there is any need of change at all. That guy who was complaining was just one person who grossly over-read into the title. I don't think that anyone else who comes to this forum will read into that title as anything other than people who LOVE 8th edition and don't want to call AoS, Warhammer. If someone is going to get THAT upset over something so trivial, do we really want him commenting on every post that goes up here? I know I don't.
The only other person who said anything negative at all, very quickly apologized and said that he would support this forum. Bravo Baron!
Something so open to public scrutiny will inevitably draw out a few nay-sayers. That's fine. It's their prerogative and they have a right to it. It's also our right to use whatever name we deem worthy. I never read it that way and still have a hard time believing that anyone who visits here will have trouble understanding the meaning behind it. Anyone who wants to participate on this forum will undoubtedly have some understanding of 8th and know what transpired with AoS, and thus the meaning behind the name.

Please change it, as per arguments mentioned above (next to the 'Real' possibly implicating it's official Games & Workshop , while it's purely fan & community based, and the fact it can be interpreted as a sneer to AoS, where I would say "People who want to play AoS and like it, leave them be"; my 2 cents). An 'Oldhammer' reference might be in place, but The Eighth Edition Warhammer Forum - Eighth Edition for Life (EEFL) sounds good to me as well.

First Off, keep it AS IS. It's fine. Anything you put on The Interwebs is open to be misinterpreted by a choice few.
If you change, humbly submitted, "The EEiFL Tower". Kinda like 'Ivory Tower'.

Make no mistake, we are all about a sneer toward AoS.

Anymore thoughts about this?
Someone suggested something like: "Eighth Edition For Life (EEFL)! – The Forum Dedicated to the 8th Edition of Warhammer"

I guess that could work. It's self explanatory. Simple and to the point.

"Mad" as in trying to impress local hardass Age of Sigmar gangsters that I'm not a pushover. An Eighth Edition Thug, in a manner of speaking.
