Yes they are fun. I play Mono-Khorne (no magic, all frenzy) and it's a nice departure from my super-fragile Empire and undead armies. Lots of cool monsters, chariots, high armor save. It's all fun until you play Wood Elves...

Like the disk too, practical that you can swap who's on top of it. WOC are weird for me since I've never played them (even in second edition) and the internet keeps saying they're overpowered. Are they actually fun to play with? I wouldn't say they are overpowered, they can certainly be beat. In the tournament scene back when they were considered to be one of the most powerful books and you would see more WoC armies then any other army. As a non WoC player this had the interesting effect of learning your enemy very well just from playing against WoC so often. So I learned what the units did and strengths and weakness and this helped me to be able to beat them sometimes.

I don't have any experience really with WoC (1 game doesn't count?) But it seems they have super powerful lords and heroes.
I mean their BSB can have 3 wounds, 1+ re rollable armor save, with a 3++ re roll 1's ward save at T5, and that's just the hero.

Lol I wish that mattered, I start with a +1 to combat res, -1 to hit him, he gets minimum 6 attacks, on average I will have about 5 points toward my CR. What you will have 4? Yeah neither of us would be doing anything lol but still.

It would be fun to watch a 350 point Chaos Lord fight his way through a horde of 60 Skaven Slaves. He is Killing 4 or 5 every turn, with combat never being won or lost by more than 1 point of CR.
The slaves would have 3 files x 3 ranks, 9 futile attacks. They would eventually roll enough 6's and he's roll a 1 to suffer a wound.
Who is your money on? Killy McLordington? Or big block of unmotivated rats?

You're missing the point. The slaves are there to die and entertain the McLord. Meanwhile the assassins and weapon teams take apart the rest of the army. When the 1500 point units finally kills enough low-borns, they find out that they are alone on the battle field. Then and only then, do the warmachines blow themselves up and the Fellblade kills my Warlord. And the Gods laugh and laugh

TL; DR - Khorne wants skulls, no matter what. Tzeentch wants VP's, no matter what.

A Khorne lord that loses a game, victory points wise, can still consider himself a winner if he killed 40 Skavens with his bare hands over 9 rounds of combat. Rat-Shaped skulls still count.

A Khorne Lord who falls to Slavenslaves is no Khorne Lord at all!

haha based upon my own personal experience that Khorne Lord would only be hitting with 2-3 of those attacks each turn so...my money is on the rats breaking him and running him down, as there's no way they're going to physically harm him.
Bad luck aside WoC is a kick-ass army with so many options and room for monsters of all kinds.
Sure they don't shoot much but what shooting they do have is pretty impressive (hellcannon).

Me and dannytee are playing this Saturday. Side project - I will bring a kitted-up Khorne Lord. I think Dan has 60 Skaven Slaves. If we finish our game quickly, I'll see if Dan might want to actually fight this out with actual dice rolls. Bets? Odds?

The Khorne Lord will eat through the slaves, because he will be mounted to right?

Nope, he ain't mounted. Just a sole infantry model on foot.
The mount has very little to do with it. A horse has 1 attack, yes? Admittedly, it is a Chaos Warhorse with WS4 and S4 IIRC.
