I must be thinking about the Sisters of Avelorn. I think the Everqueen has a heart motif with thorns around it.

Kind of a cosmic joke that Games-workshop managed to blow out Warhammer Fantasy at the very moment one of the most successful 'and' Warhammer Fantasy focused video games was released.

I know, right? I've been hoping that GW would see their colossal mistake and at least continue the series even if on a small scale. They're a bit too proud to do something that would admit their mistake though. Even if it could make them some money. They probably think that this game IS their attempt to "satisfy" 8th players!

Oh, they're still gonna make a good profit from this. The hype for the upcoming races plays right into their Seraphon start collecting kit, Spires of Dawn re-release and upcoming Shadowkin release for dark elf fans. The end of the year ShadeSpire warband game is also hinting at new undead models so that'll hit the Tomb king itch for newcomers to TT. Heck, the previous Stormcast Vanguard was all about armored cavaliers on demi-hippogryphs during the TW:Bretonnia flc. GW has their bases covered.

It was nice to see the Carnosaur flex a little bit of its combat prowess.

I so hope GW admits their mistake and owns up and returns back to Warhammer Fantasy Battles

With 40k going the way of AoS it seems like this style of gaming may unfortunately be the future of GW gaming. While I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, it does make me want to play the game less and less. I really think they're trying to stick it to a lot of the other manufacturers and create a game that more directly competes with them rather than it being the other way around like it has in the past.
What I hope to see in the future is something more like Blood Bowl or Shadow Wars, a "Specialist Game" with rules that allow you to rank up your fantasy models and here is a great big rulebook that shows you how this works.
Until that day I'll stick with 8th.
