Hey All. I thought that I'd take it easy on my opponent and try and have a little fun with my WoC list. Alternatively my Beastmen list that I put together contains almost everything I have! I had to go heavy on the characters, which is something that I absolutely do not like doing. I'm a boys before toys kind of person. Here are the two lists:

Ungor Raiders. They're min 10 models and a max of 4 units. Which is ok as I only have 40 of them right now.
Think human stats with M5 and ld6, skirmish and short bows and you basically have a raider.

But can they have short-bows? My Ungors minis have short bows. This is so incredibly key to success in my overarching strategy

I ran 9th age Beasts at Crossroads in the fall and ended up 2nd overall (IIRC) with Best General. They are pretty good. I just used my old double doombull list more or less. Played more or less the same as in 8th.
I LOVE mongrel hordes/ungors with bows. Love to chaff the area up with annoying skirmishers and dictate the charges that happen. The bow just makes them a little more annoying and help a bit against other chaff.

It's a rare day you don't see AT LEAST 8-9 units of chaff consisting of ungor skirmishers, chaos hounds, and solo razorgors. On the subject can I just mention how much I LOVE razorgors? They're amazing warmachine hunters, chaff clearers, and when push comes to shove charge them into a block of troops with a wizard in the front rank. Their high T and high A typically sees them through just about everything.

Oh yes I love them as well. I find Beastmen are a list that really challenges you to use it as it's not just drop a brick down and know it can beat everything. You've got to manage leadership bubble, fleeing/taking charges, multiple small darts to pick off opponent softer bits etc at the same time. I was 3-0 going into day 2 of Buckeye a few years ago and I had an opponent tell me Beastmen were broken

As someone that is painting minotaurs for 3 or 4 hours tonight for a Beastmen army - You give me hope. You help me go on.

So I took the Beastmen list against a bret list. He had 3 big blocks of knights, a small 10-man block of foot-knights, 2 trebs, and a small 5-man unit of skirmishing knights. oh and 12 archers. I lost We only managed to play 2 turns due to time (it took a LONG time to get the board set up, no idea why) Highlights include 2 razorgors combo-charging the foot-knights (one in front one in the flank) and doing...1 wound. 8 attacks...2 hits...2 wounds...1 save. 2 stomps...2 wounds...2 saves...on a 5++ he did a wound apiece to the razorgors and they both broke and fled. One of them fled through a unit of ungor skirmishers; who panicked and fled off the board. the other razorgor fled through the bestigors. They held. The ungor skirmishers were blocking a unit of knights-of-the-realm from doing anything for a turn but because of their panicking it opened up the bestigors to be combo-charged by a unit of knights-of-the-realm, the footknights, and a unit of grail knights. Bestigors mutilated all three units. I lost almost half the unit but those that survived DESTROYED the knights. S6 armor piercing with hatred is a nasty thing against knights. I lost combat by like 8 but was steadfast cause he only had front ranks left after my bestigors were done with them. We unfortunately had to end it there due to time, but I would have had all three of those units had time allowed us to continue. As it stood he had 3 units of dogs, 3 units of ungor skirmishers to my nothing. Have I mentioned how much I love bestigors?

I find that 9th plays a lot slower then 8th. You can speed up the game by mass deploying multiple units at once if you don't care where your opponents is going.
I also had someone tell me beastmen were broken because they were an old army book at a Simcon 8th ed event a few years back. Folks who don't play at a high level are going to see them and not know how to deal with all the double flees and flank charges.
