Anywho, I've been working on this Firebelly and modeled a Tyrant and my first Maneater. They will all have a "Frost Giant" theme and will have an "icy" look to them.

Tyrant: (This is an Avatars of War model. I wanted to take a pic of him up next to the others for size comparison. I LOVE this model so much more than GW Tyrant models. Dude looks seriously intimidating!)

Late to this thread so commenting on items several years old but love the thundertusk fur paint job, looks fricken awesome and Teela on battlecat is genius. I did find all my 80s he-man figures in a box at my folks the other day. Apparently my nephews love them (my mum is such a hoarder with old toys).

Lol, that's awesome! I still have all of my old He-man figures (though most are in disrepair, having been played with - a LOT) including Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain (the microphone doesn't work anymore). They're in my attic somewhere.
Glad you like the Thundertusk! I'm planning on buying the box set from GW that has a Thundertusk, Stonehorn, 4 Sabretusks, Mournfang Cav, and Yhettees. Honestly, not a bad haul for around $200! Anyway, I plan on using a very similar paint scheme for my next Thundertusk, Stonehorn and Mournfang Cav.
Currently, I have enough to build a 2000 pt army. Maybe not the best army (I'm "borrowing the Giants from my Orcs & Goblins) but it'll still play. I do love how few models you have to have in order to play a full game with OK.

Lol, I had to look that one up. Similar, similar. He's actually painting up quite nicely. The skull chain hanging from the end of his axe keep falling off though. I'll probably just leave them off. They don't really add too much to the aesthetic of the model and I know they'll prove to be a big thorn in my side, trying to keep them attached. Too small for pinning or magnetizing.
I'm loving just how BIG his axe is! Especially since I'll pretty much always take a GW on my Tyrants! He's gonna go off on his enemies!

Yeah that axe is ridiculous, it's why I thought of Axe from DOTA who's whole thing is having a ridiculously oversized axe.
Also the miniature has the same pose as DOTA Axe's resting pose. You can't get much of a larger great weapon than that.
Looking at him next to the pirate maneater I almost think he needs a rock/cork or something under him on the base to give him just that little bit of extra height over his underlings.
I'd actually never seen that miniature before, it's very impressive.
I hate dangly metal bits... I always end up ditching them after accidentally breaking them a couple of times.
Looking forward to seeing him painted.

I actually thought about making his base higher, but since it's a metal mini, I was a little apprehensive about making him too top-heavy. I already had to be careful where I placed him on the base as is, because it was trying to tip over at one point. I did, however, put him on some cork. I plan on doing that with most of my Ogres though.

I really like the Axe colour and the way the edges on it look.

Thanks! I felt that it fit well with the whole "Ice Ogres" theme. I was hoping that it would look like a big frozen blade.

I'm making a little more progress on this big guy. I don't know who makes this model, but I'll be using him as a Maneater. His head is a tad smaller than the other Maneater's heads, but he'll still work. He has a staff on his back with a lot of fabric wrapped around it. My play was to attach blades to either end of it. (You can see the end of the staff on his back just behind his left shoulder in the pic.) Don't know if that's a good idea or not. The real problem I'm having is his base. Someone obviously stuck a round base on top of a square. The only thing I can think about doing is taking some 2 part epoxy putty and "tacking" it to the sides of the round base to make it looks like more rock. Don't know how possible that'll be or how difficult. Meh. Any ideas are more than welcome!
