Well, here's my current project. I wanted to make a fleet of these guys. Three of them just don't seem all that effective. Six on the other hand...

Awesome to hear that your whole family will be home soon. When I think of albino lizards I think of Gor-Rok. To me he is one of the most badass characters in all of warhammer. This is the version on GW's website. I like the addition of the gray, gives it a bit of a contrast.

Great unit! The albino really makes the leader stand out, but might need a little more shade somewhere so nobody mistakes him for an unpainted model.

Whoot-whoot! Check out the Kroxigor I just got in the mail yesterday! I am stoked to get these guys painted and in action! These are absolutely the best designed models I have ever seen! The aesthetic is dead on, the proportions are what they should be, incredibly easy to assemble, came pre-primed, and there were no imperfections! I love them!

I must confess I'm rather fond of the current official models but those are really nice. Who made them?

That's another incredible thing, they're made by a fan! He's on the Lustria Online site and generated a computer model then had them 3d printed. It started of as something he just wanted to do for himself, but there was such an outcry of people wanting them that he started producing them for others. These don't even compare to the GW models. They make GW's look like a children's cartoon. I held out on buying any of GW's Kroxigor because I thought they looked so incredibly bad. I was hoping they would make some new models, but they never did and now we have these that are IMO, the best models I've ever seen! The wait list for these has gotten quite long. I had to wait nearly a year before I finally got these, and it wasn't because he took a long time, it was because there was such an outcry from Lizardman players wanting them! I mean, c'mon. They've even been featured on Cool Mini's or Not:

That's not the most recent GW Kroxigor. The newer ones are great. They look like this: But yeah, yours are very nice. Now go paint 'em!

Mottdon, those Krox are awesome! This is the first time I have seen them. What is the cost for a unit of 3?

Well, since he works for somebody else, he can't legally "sell" them lest he violate some business policy. So he is asking for "donations" of $50 and he will then send you a "gift" of 3 models. I love 'em! I don't know if I'll be able to pull it off, but I'm going to try and get as close to this as I can as far as color scheme. I want them to look very dangerous and things in nature that are very brightly colored tend to be rather lethal. I liked this color scheme and thought it would stand out nicely on the table top and in a unit of Skink Cohorts. I plan on making the cuffs and weapon a bit more muted for some good contrast.

Well, the kids were actually really good and sleeping when I got home yesterday, so I had a little time to get a bit o' work done on my first Kroxigor! Remember, he's still a WIP, so keep that in mind, but let me know what you think so far! Do you see any areas or have any ideas that might need improvement? I think I'm going to try to add a bit more purple to the mix. Right now, he's a little too Mauve (Salmon?).

He looks good, but it's a bit hard to achieve depth with backward highlighting as you would normally have shading between the scales where your brightest colours are. If you put in some shading, the scale details would pop more, but you might lose some or most of the yellow in the process. I think I'd still do it. Some kind of dark wash and then do the scale tip colours again as needed.

Yes those scar tips go all the way to purple...they need just a little more and that will really help with the contrast. You're almost there.
