If the Triceratops is bigger than the GW kit and too big to fit a Stegadon base I'd recommend mounting/playing it as being on a Terrorgheist base and using counts as/adjusted Stonehorn rules for it as they do a great job for a Triceratops or horned charging dinosaur.

Started trying out my new set of Colorshift paints on this unit of Chameleon Skinks. I've always struggled with how I was going to paint these guys up. This works though! They shift from Green to Brown, depending on lighting. Once I finish the details on the model, I think they'll look pretty good!

How do you find the GW painting holder, stand thing (I’m sure that is it’s technical name). Worth getting?

How do you find the GW painting holder, stand thing (I’m sure that is it’s technical name). Worth getting? I like it. As I get older, my hands cramp more and more holding these little minis while painting. This helps. Also, I don't risk rubbing paint off from handling the model. That's huge for me since I always have to go back and touch up places where I rubbed something off (wet or dry). Lastly, it keeps me focused on finishing that one model. I have so many models that I want to get to and usually have several projects going at once. This helps me stay focused on one model by putting it on a pedestal and drawing my attention to it. I usually don't bother with GW (Citadel) tools, brushes, etc., but in this case, I think it's worth it.

Check out what Luke does with his in order to batch paint. I think this is a marvelous idea and a great use of the product. I plan on doing this same thing. I just need to stop by my store and pick up some poster putty and large tongue depressors. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX9vZlD5bNE&t=205s

Also, it couldn't be easier swapping models out. It is spring loaded, so all you have to do is literally pull it apart and pop the model in. That's it. All others I've found are either much more involved adjusting the holder to the appropriate size of the model, or pealing off putty and cleaning it.

I don't know. It's GW so you're probably paying 1.5 times more for someone else's product. I guess everyone else does it too so it's not like they're the lone bad guy here.
An old paint pot and some blue tack work wonders for me. It's REALLY cheap, and I can completely prime/seal the model without having to touch it. And I have 20 pots done up that way so I can even batch spray all the models.
I'd still like to try it out but I don't think I'll enjoy having to constantly load and reload a model when batch painting.

See how Luck uses it to batch paint in the video link above. It's also only about $5 for one.

Yeah, the handle is probably GW's first "cheap" priced product love Lukes videos! I combined his videos with the terrain tutor when I researched for my river. Not sure about gluing the models to a stick.

He paints his 28mm models the same way that I paint my 15mm models (flames of war). It's a pretty decent set up actually. strutsagget you could always try blue-taccing the model to the stick instead of gluing it. I am curious now if it would make painting easier I'll have to pick up a couple of them and see if I like it. The only issue that I really have with using old paint pots is that it takes up a lot of real estate; it makes my workspace a little more cramped than I'd like. Hopefully once my paint shelves get here that won't be so much of an issue anymore

Yeah, strutsagget, I wouldn't glue them to the stick, but rather use blue-tac (poster putty) instead as it is removable without taking paint off. Check this video out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8XZ93zW7WQThis guy is really intelligent and explains methods and products in a way that a painter with no experience using a certain product (or method) can understand and things they would want to know!
