Ok, I’ve made two small changes to the list. I’ve replaced the banner of Discipline with the banner of eternal flame. As my general isn’t in the unit of be stigor, I figured being able to use his LD 9 ‘might’ be quite useful and it gives at least one unit the ability to deal with Regen. This left 5pts, so the iron curse icon was given to the shaman for a bit of protection.

And I am going with Beastmen for Riotville. The (much reduced) horde of Bashor the Bloody

Nice, crisp blocks of beastmen - you cannot beat square bases.

Good stuff. My Slayers are in need of some new goat hide boots.

Awesome Knoffles. Busting out the beasts!
Good luck.
I hope Bashor unleashes devastation upon your enemies.

Still playing with lists for next Friday. This time is the Beasts and a duel Razorgor Chariot List
Lords/Heroes
Bashor the Bloody (general) - Razorgor Chariot, Ramhorn Helm, Brass Cleaver, Pot of Str, talisman of endurance, shadow hide, HA, shield - 399pts
Khazbar the Magnificent - lvl 4 beasts - jagged dagger, ToP, Fencers Blades, ironcurse icon - 330pts
(As yet unnamed) Wargor - Razorgor Chariot - Gnarled Hide, charmed shield, Pot of Foolhardiness, sword of might, HA - 284pts
Zurrock the Mighty - Wargor (bsb) - HA, shield, Beast Banner, gouge tusks - 206pts
Core
48 Gor - FC, AHW - 409pts Tuskgor Chariot - 80pts Tuskgor Chariot - 80pts 5 Ungor Raiders - 30pts 5 Ungor Raiders - 30pts
Special
Razorgor - 55pts Razorgor - 55pts 5 Harpies - scout - 70pts 5 Harpies - scout - 70pts 30 Bestigor - FC, banner of eternal flame - 400pts
Total - 2498
A fairly ridiculous amount of points in characters. I’m still playing with the chariots as love the Idea of the leaders of the Herd thundering around on them. I know they aren’t optimal but they sure are fun. This time Bashor bought a friend. I figured 2 running together is better than 1! The great bray shamen is my normal preferred faire, kitted out to be in combat and generate power dice via kills. The only change is to give him the fencers blades to help him out in defence (and give him 3 attacks base)
The core and special aren’t too different to what I normally run (mainly down to limited choices). The main variation is the inclusion of two packs of scouting harpies. The aim is to make them a threat (or tie up) things from their first go and exploit any holes left.

I like the list. I too like trying different lists. I have a handful of chariots but Beastmen are new to me and I haven't tried them out yet. I have used Orc chariots before with mixed results.

I have to admit, some of the choices were also partly decided after listening to the Elector Counts beastmen podcast. They weren’t fans of the harpies and none of them had really used characters on Razorgors, so of course I had to re-try a list with a number of them in!

If they are the same guys that do the YouTube videos, they use a lot of Ungor Raiders. Personally I prefer Razorgor over Ungors Raiders. The Razorgor is much more versatile, they can hunt lone characters, war machines, even work as flankers. Raiders just can't do as much.
I think Harpies have their place. Fly alone puts them above Raiders in my book.

I agree that they are better than Raiders though of course raiders are 30pts vs 55pts for harpies and are in core. They were talking about how they would probably never take harpies over razorgors as they are both 55pts and from special. Asa general rule I’d prioritise Razorgors but I will normally try and fit in some harpies too. As you say, fly just makes them so versatile.

Harpies have their uses as screeners and war machine hunters. That fly movement is great. They do panic if someone sneezes in their direction though

I’ve slightly amended the load out on the beastlord, removing the armour of destiny and giving him the Ramhorn Helm and talisman of endurance instead. This drops him from a 4++ to a 5++ Ward but increases his armour to 2+. With his weapon likely giving him up to +5 attacks against units then giving him extra attacks if he saved any armour throws just made me giggle. Of course I must keep remembering that he must not charge alone as a champion would negate a lot of his advantage by throwing out a challenge (and he tends to run away a lot when he solos anything!). He also still has to actually reach combat too...

I know it wouldnt fit with this list, but my favorite beastlord setup is 4 up ward, crown of command, enchanted shield and either that 15 point magic weapon from the brb or great weapon. Throw him in the bestigor horde with the 1 up leadership banner.
