grandmasterwang Again this model was bought for use in KOW. MOM sell some of the cheapest miniatures available. The casting and sculpt detail isn't nearly in the same league as Mierce but it is still decent quality and easy to remove mould lines. I can only comment on the Dwarf range not the others though. Love their Golems and of course your epic giant statue. I meant you should play the Statue ("Rune Giant") in Warhammer 8th Edition (along with KOW). I know I'd let you Most opponents (unless it's a tournament game) I doubt would object to you bringing in such an epic painted model in as a centrepiece as a rare choice (less organ guns lol) Bone Giant/Colossus with Great Weapon rules from Tomb Kings suit it perfectly. 180 points. Not marching suits it. I love homebrew stuff and this has inspired me to add a Rune Giant to my dwarfs The way I'd adjust it from the TK Bone Giant.... remove Unstoppable Assault, bump to Weaponskill 4 to suit the rest of the dwarf army. Done! It even comes on the right 50*50 base size. Such an awesome model deserves to be played in Warhammer Fantasy. I see a MOM miniatures order in my future thanks to you.

Nice idea on the rules. I'll definitely have a look into that.

Well, I'm glad he made it to you and in safe condition! More importantly, I hope your daughter likes him!
(Dang it! Don't you hate it when you see where you need to touch-up something after the pic is up! Lol!)

Rather than getting on with any of my painting pledge this afternoon, when my daughter went down for her nap, I continued to procrastinate and instead dug out my dwarves to take an army shot and take stock of where I am at with them (similar to what I did with the Herd of Khazbar). Once again they are framed on the giant toadstool. So without further preamble... The full army (or as good as, it is possible I have a few extra models in boxes I missed) The Lords and ThanesThe EngineersThe Runelords and RunesmithsUngrim and the Daemon and Dragon Slayers The Rank and FileSo we're looking the following to be finished: Josef Bugman (part-painted) Belegar Ironhammer King Kazador White Dwarf on shieldbearers (Bugman and Gotrek) Thane/Lord Grimm Burlocksson Burlock Damminsson Master Engineer (part painted) 3 Runesmiths (1 part painted) 40 Miners (10 part painted) 16 Quarrellers/Rangers 2 Doom Seekers (part painted) 1 Grudge Thrower and 3 crew 1 Gyrobomber/coptor (will also be magnetised to switch) So the tally stands at: 270/344

I actually learnt a bit. I didn't realise Ungrim was so small compared to those other slayer models. That's a lot of dwarfs, goodluck painting up that epic force.

To be fair, Ungrim seems to have misplaced his big bad back banner at the moment, that will make him stand out more. knoffles, you have more painted than unpainted models. Clearly you need to buy more! what I find impressive is your dedication to painting ranks-n-files instead of being all over these awesome character models. That shows true class.

To be honest in some ways I don't mind the rank and file as I can get away with my tabletop standard on them with a bit of experimenting. I've left many of the characters as want to try and get my ability up first. I haven't touched the dwarves for a while as doing that many rank and file did kill me. Though what did I then do, buy, build and then paint a shed load of Beastmen instead. Obviously just a glutton for punishment!

It's actually good fun as I don't know about the rest of you but it's rare they all see the light of day in one go. The issue with my dwarves are they are all in individual battlepack compartments and it gave me back ache getting them in and out (think I'm getting old talking about back ache and 'remembering when all this was fields')

The second model I've actually managed to finish this month is a dwarf slayer character that was released during the ret-conned Storm of Chaos expansion (I believe around 6th ed Warhammer Fantasy). Garagrim Ironfist was the War-mourner of Karak Kadrin and son of the legendary Ungrim Ironfist. It was his duty to tend the Shrine of Grimnir and the temple’s store of runic weapons. This was a model i’d been after for a while but due to not wanting to pay silly prices it had taken me a while to find him. Thankfully an Italian gentleman had put one up on ebay together with the dual pistol dwarf engineer for a very reasonable price. This might have been due to his base being missing but either way I jumped on it and the ‘free’ engineer was a bonus. It did however mean I had to do something with the lack of base. He was still attached to the ‘sprue’ so I was able to put him in a slotta base but he stood half an inch up. This was fixed by, with my normal ‘attention to detail and foresight’, wedging half a ton of greenstuff onto the base. If i’d been thinking at all, I would have at least tried to sculpt it into stone. Because I winged it, I instead wedged a number of elf heads onto the base and then added static grass. Oh and I may have added a few other bits and bobs to my dwarves, so have updated the list Josef Bugman (part-painted) Belegar Ironhammer King Kazador White Dwarf on shieldbearers (Bugman and Gotrek) 3 Thane/Lord s Grimm Burlocksson Burlock Damminsson 5 Master Engineer (part painted) 3 Runesmiths (1 part painted) 40 Miners (10 part painted) 16 Quarrellers/Rangers 2 Doom Seekers (part painted) 1 Grudge Thrower and 3 crew 1 Gyrobomber/coptor (will also be magnetised to switch) 10 Ironbreakers Gimli (Lotr) 15 3rd edition dwarf warriors So the tally stands at: 270/377

One decapitated elf for each axe!
King Kazador is a classic model. I've looked on eBay but I want one complete with that epic back banner.

Where would you find a banner for him? I have one with the back banner pole, but no banner.

Where would you find a banner for him? I have one with the back banner pole, but no banner. There is one for cutting out in the oop army book iirc but of course I wouldn't vandalise my precious books in such a manner. I'll see if I can take a picture later which maybe you could print.
