15 of the second gen wood elf plastic archers. Awesome cloaks. The whole unit looks nice.

Couple of 4th ed. command groups. This one will be for the archers in the post above. These will lead the Crimson Guard (Eternal Guard) and the standard bearer is one of my all time favourite wood elf sculpts. I think it's the way he is wrapping himself in the cloak. Something about it, I really like. Edit: I will be adding banners to both poles and these will be old school in so far as sketching/tracing a design onto paper and then painting/inking this before cutting and glueing it to the pole. This was the method used for my Orcs of the same period and I still much prefer this to the more ‘modern’ trend of all standards having the banner as part of the model.

Sweet! Your WEs are really coming together! We'll be needing an army-wide shot soon!

Sweet! Your WEs are really coming together! We'll be needing an army-wide shot soon! Cheers Mottdon. It will happen at some point but I still have a way to go. At least the following: 10 Waywatchers 1 Waystalker (had to pick up a second recently...) 10 Wild Riders 1 Glade Lord on Great Stag (6 months on the painting table and not finished, yep slacking). 1 Character on Great Eagle 25 - 30 Eternal Guard (mixture of 4th ed. Metal and new plastics - part painted) 20 Wildwood Rangers. Various individual Foot characters. Any other bits I buy in the mean time (Rangers probably as there is no way 20 is enough!).

Ugh. 20 Wildwood Rangers...those took me forever.
Sounds like you've got a good plan though! I expect to see at least one of these models finished and posted each week!

I've been influenced by a challenge set by one of the blogs I follow ( Azazel's bitz box) to show love to neglected models. As such I've been trying to finish off part painted old models in your collection. These had a few touches of paint on them from the 90's so in a fit of activity, I ignored my painting list to finish of the old metal models for my 'Crimson Guard'. These will be led by the command models above and there are some of the new eternal guard plastic models that are part painted to add further numbers. I do need to hunt around at my folks for the original shields (I think I know where they are) as ebay prices for them are outrageous.
