Sorry, I haven't been posting much in the way of my progress this month, but I've been distracted by the new Skitarii army that I've started. I've made these two models, 6 Rangers and a Kastelan Robot. I have 3 more K-bots to go and 4(?) more Rangers but I also have a Dragoon on the way as well. I'll try to get more painting done before the month's end though.

Right BEFORE! I had no idea that they were getting a new book when I started collecting them! Lol, lucky me!

I'm debating picking them up too. I'll have an easier time finding opponents around here if I sold my soul and started playing 40k again. Skitarii are one of the few armies who's aesthetic appeals to me, even if actually playing the game doesn't. I hate moving to a new area where the games you used to play and love are not enjoyed by others.

Yeah, that sucks. I just recently moved back to the town I grew up in (after 15 years), but most of my friends have moved away, started families, jobs, etc. and it's hard to find opponents who have time for 8th. That's why I started this 40K force. I liked the Skitarii, not because they were good, or were getting a new book, but because there was something Steam-Punky about them that I love. And if you're going to go futuristic, why not go big robots and big guns?!?

I got a few more models put together. I have to admit, these models are amazingly detailed, but DANG! They are a PAIN to assemble! The big Kastelan Robots literally have motherboard chips that you have to inset in their chests! And then you cover them up with a chest plate!?! What's the point in that? They added in a ton of small, unnecessary details. The Dunecrawler has about 5 cables that you have to attach to the underside of the chassis as well as all of those little things like the ladder handrails on the side of the body that have to be installed...each. I love the opportunity to customize my models, but with models like this one, there's not really many other ways it CAN be built. Oh well. Still very nice models.

mottdon you did paint the motherboars before you inserted them right? Shoot, no! It's covered up and nobody will ever see them! Pointless. It's like painting the inside of a tank and then gluing it shut!

Lol, and I'm perfectly fine with that! It's only 40K after all...

That last post was a relief. I thought we were losing you to that other game

Sneaking these guys in before the deadline. Painted for a friend and it's not easy to say goodbye. I guess I may see them again when they are coming for me in a game all frenzied and mad.

Awesome! That spurs me on to work on mine as well! (Mine are only primed brown as of right now.) They look great though! That's pretty much exactly how I want mine to look!
