Looks awesome. So when I was assembling these guys I really wasn't very into the little shriveled up rat in the back pack (he controls the stormfiend I guess). I just didn't like the way they looked, a little too sci-fi for me I think. I actually thought about leaving them off and trying to sculpt the armor back in or something. Anyway, I really like the way you painted the little back pack rat. I'm now glad I left him!

I'm glad you said that. I absolutely hate those things. I was thinking "pinkies"...those baby rats. The sculpting on them is crap compared to the rest of the figures.

They remind me of Krang from the early 90's animated cartoon of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Also, Skaven have a life expectancy of 20, so the vast majority of them would be teenaged. And Skaven are by definition, mutants. And almost anything from Clan Eshin would be at least partly Ninja.
I guess what I am driving at is: Why has no one made the Teenage Mutant Ninja Rat army yet?

I remember pre-ordering these guys because the sculpts are really cool. Then when I started to assemble them I was like what are these weird back pack rats? They don't show them in the pics on the box. They are in the back though so I guess you don't see them as much.

Yeah, I hate the look of those things. Something like a big jar or tanks filled with green "Warpstone Juice" would have worked just as well for a power source and looked way cooler. The whole "thinking for the big guy" thing is not really needed. I don't really understand the "beanies" on it's shoulders either. Great paint job though! I love the verdigris and scar on his arm!
Totally reminds me of Kang too!

Not sure if you've read the fluff on them or not but the Rat Ogres proved to be too stupid/aggressive to be able to handle the advanced weaponry that the Stormfiends have. There were far too many "accidents" during the developmental process of these new living weapons. It wasn't until the Master Moulders started experimenting with the "dual mind" approach that accidents started falling off to an acceptable (for the skaven anyway) level. The "minds" are grown in vats and then transplanted onto their rat ogre hosts and boom...Stormfiends. I personally don't mind the little rats at all; I didn't even realize they were modeled on the stormfiends until just now either!

Looking awesome as always. I’m looking forward to blowing up some stuff with the warp lightning cannon (even if it is the cannon itself!).
