Haha, that's one set I certainly don't miss, even though it helped us bulk out our forces back in the day. I think the Dark Elves and Dwarfs wandered off with players leaving the hobby or selling at some point, but the rest are still in our group's collections.

The Araknarok is indeed a fantastic kit, but painting the howda on that thing was probably the most difficult part of any model I've painted.

It took GW like 20 years to make a plastic shaven better than those. -----------And even that is debatable!

c8, I don't like the GW howdah in the kit, I recommend making your own. He is one of mine.

I love the howdah! Here's one I made out of 2 kits:

Ha, Anton, that is awesome! I should say, I don't like how the howdah in the kit blocks out the spider's crest on his abdomen, rather than not liking the howdah itself. The spider itself is so awesome, I don't want to cover or block key parts of the beast.

Yeah it's an awesome kit. I've made the above Spidershrine and one regular, and I converted a third one into a Soulgrinder for my Nurgle Daemons. But I think I'm done with it now.

1. my fav box set was Warhammer: Fantasy Fighters, which included: 10 Gobins, 10 Orcs, 10 Dwarfs, 10 Skaven, 10 Wood Elves and 10 Dark Elves for $20.00! $0.33 per mini... Now some 20 mm plastics cost as much as $6 per mini. I also like the skaven. Wouldn't mind mixing a few into my clanrat units.

It took GW like 20 years to make a plastic shaven better than those. -----------And even that is debatable! It hurts my heart to say this but I think the 7th edition plastic skaven are superior to the old version. I have to give GW credit, the plastic clanrats, stormvermin, and screaming bell are truly amazing kits. But the old jes goodwin metal rats are still the best

The 7th edition Skaven stuff is great. I still like the original Skaven Bell from 4th edition, and Andy Chamber's homemade bell when he was playtesting it!

roughtimesYou should post pics of your Skaven in the painting forum, I'm sure people here would love to see your stuff. Also, the classic metal Skaven are really a rare thing, most people have never really seen them!

Chamber's bell is amazing considering it's a conversion

Does anyone on this forum have a few of these Plastic Unbarded Horse(s)? 4.bp.blogspot.com/-mWUEdI6icyM/UKc6i4DwiJI/AAAAAAAAAh4/Sh3wuWTYBBI/s1600/horsesA.jpg (the one on the right)
I NEED 2 of them... and would like up to 10 more. Will pay cash, will trade minis.
(sorry, I know there is likely a proper thread for trades)
