Would anyone out there besides myself be interested in rules for solo gorebeasts? I've got 6 of the guys left over from chariot builds I've done just waiting to be used.
Was planning on just counting them as trolls but it might be fun for them to have their own profile.
I'm not good with these things but here's an idea:
M - 6/7 WS - 3/4 BS - 1 S - 5 T - 5 W - 3 I - 2 A - 3 LD - 6/7
Was thinking they should be armored, something like 4+ armor. Give them killing blow impact hits just like their chariot counterparts (d3 impact hits?)
For a price - somewhere in the 40-50 point range?
Thoughts?

I think that their LD would need to be 6 if they are taken on their own. They are beasts after all. 5+ armor since their S and T are so high. WS 3 since they are beasts and not necessarily trained in combat. Movement 7 is good.
The KB impact hits is a nice touch, but I feel that there should be some drawback to taking them. Something like a "Rampage" rule. Say, they have to take a Ld test at the beginning of each of your movement phases (Kinda like Animosity). If passed, they can move as normal, but on a roll of 1, the beasts become enraged and go on a "Rampage" where they attack the closest unit (friend or foe), following the rules for Frenzy. That way, they'd benefit from being close to the general's Ld bubble, but it could backfire.
As for price, I think 50 points would probably be a good point value. They are slightly better than Treekin (S4, T5) and those are priced at 45 points each. I'd probably also make them a Rare choice. Sounds like a fun idea though!

As a huge fan of homebrew.. Yes. Gorebeast it up! I'm actually working on a solo Gorebeast at the moment, hopefully completed in January paint pledge. I was just going to use it as a Razorgor but a Gorebeast is much better armored and slower so was pondering custom rules myself. Imo it should be either Razorgor points (loses speed, gains armor/resilience) or a little higher. Definitely don't see a Gorebeast as being weaker than a Razorgor.

I've been using these rules now for a couple of months. Unit Size 1+ Used a rare choice in a Beastmen army or a special choice in a Warriors of Chaos army (Gorebeast chariots are special in WOC). Also can be used in Storm of Magic games with no issue. I'm happy with these rules and my gaming group is too after several games so these rules are here to stay. Profile is based 100% on the Gorebeast profile from the WOC book. I think 60 points is fair. Lone characters on foot or normal mounts need to fear them due to the killing blow and until now Beastmen didn't have killing blow at all. The killing blow however is limited to the impact hits (to match the WOC Gorebet chariot profile) As it's not a chariot it can march into position quicker and gets the benefit of a stomp. By comparison the Razorgor is 55 points and 1 movement speed faster as well as harder hitting on the charge with 1 more attack and the Razorgor charge bonus. They are very similar with the same S, T and Wounds. The reason the Gorebeast is 5 points more expensive than the Razorgor is that it has a 4+ armor save compared with the Razorgor's none and weaponskill 4 vs Razorgor's 3, which combine to make it considerably more durable vs certain foes. It also of course has the killing blow impact hits.

You could maybe use them as Daemonic Mounts with a little conversion-age too As for points I reckon something in the 60 point range is very reasonable. It makes them roughly on a par with a Dragon Ogre which they are similar to stats-wise with some small variances either way
