Do like your highlight and shade skills. Do you water the shades down alot or repaint on top?

I water them right down. 1) Base color, 3 thin layers (Dark) 2) Color I am after, 2 thin layers 3) Wash, 2 thin layers 4) Back to the color, I want, 2 thin layers, leaving the recesses so that the wash is visible 5) Highlight with lighter color 6) fine edge highlight with lightened highlight color Honestly its a lot quicker than it sounds. I know its 11 layers but the paint dries fairly quickly.

She has too much clothing on for my tastes.
Lovely paint job though you did a great job on the model.

Awesome! I'm lovin' it! I'm glad you painted the "legs" of her stand, purple. I was thinking about painting my Cauldron the same purple color. That gives me a pretty good idea about how it might look. Thanks!

That gives me a pretty good idea about how it might look. Thanks! When I was looking at the Delfs and trying to decide on a color scheme, it was always either going to be deep wine red or a deep rich purple. I'm glad I went with purple in the end.

There is just something dark and foreboding, yet royal, about purple on them. My Delfs actually have a very, very dark grey skin tone (taken after R.A.Salvatore's Legend or Drizzt series) and my main color scheme is Purple as my main and Teal as my secondary color. They offset nicely.
I have loved what you've been doing with the face paint on your Witch Elves though. I want to do something similar when I start on that project, but since I have a dark skin color, purple wouldn't have enough contrast to show up very much. I think that I'll probably go with a red color because that may show a little better, but also speak to their bloody nature. Maybe. I'll just have to see how it looks on a model when I start painting them.
I also have been meaning to mention how awesome your Witch Elf banner bearer looks! That's the Sorceress models right? Great application here! She has the look, stave for a banner, and the stance appropriate for a banner bearer. Which banner did you use there? Is that the one from the Dark Riders? Also, did you "mount" her on a piece of roof so that it wouldn't be touching the ground? Just wondering how it ranks up.

No no, the banner is the standard banner from the witch/sister of slaughter box. You are correct, the extra height lets her be anywhere in the front rank and rank up nicely (lets face it with the witches you need all the help, ranking them up, that you can get!) but the banner its self, even when not on the roof, doesn't touch the ground. it does however make positioning a real pain if she isn't raised up high.

Ah, okay! I suppose I've never really looked at it. I have three boxes ready to go, but I haven't opened any of them yet.

Here's another pic of the banner bearer. I thought I had some better angles, but I can't find any on my phone. I know I have some on my comp. hopefully this gives you a bit of s better idea of position and stuff. Attachments:

I should probably change the name of this thread to my DELF army... but anyway, here are some pics of a couple of conversions in working on. One is a Medusa with a Bladed throne, the other two are a Har-Ganeth bolt thrower and chariot!
