Okay. I'm going to lay off the Orcs & Goblins for a bit and get back to my pledge for this month. Next up, finishing off the 20 Skeletons for GMW.

Honestly, I hate the old boars. They just don't look like boars to me. I think it's their heads. Too big for their tiny bodies. Plus, the weird way the tusks fit up under their small noses. Bad proportions all round. The new boars rank up horribly though... And then you have the HUGE boar that comes with the Warboss/BSB kit...that makes 3 COMPLTETELY different boars! Consistency people! Haha, I like the goofy old boars and riders. I actually don't like that massive horned Warboss boar at all. I love that old oop Warboss model though. The new boarboys look great and actually like the Orcs are charging into battle. The old models meanwhile are very static but I see them as the Boar Boys slowly sauntering/parading about in front of the rest of the Orc boys and lording it over them. They have imo a certain regalness to them.

@ Naitsabes: Thanks, brother! I'm trying to keep as much as possible to the goals I set at the beginning of the month. (That's hard for me to do!) But I think that I should be able to make it this month and maybe a little beyond! Looking forward to seeing your future contributions again! @ grandmasterwang: Lol, I suppose I came off a bit harsh. I don't mind the old models so much, I just much prefer the new ones over them. I do, however, have quite a few of them! They'll make a nice core group of Boar Boyz when I take Gorbad Ironclaw. It also helps that I have the old Orc Boss on Warboar as well as the Orc Shaman on Warboar. And, like you, I think that the Warboss Boar is my least favorite just because of the leg attachment. There is really very little room for customization with that model.

The models I don’t like are the ‘new’ Savage Orc Boar Boyz. The boars look good but I really dislike the way the Rider seems to fit on as an afterthought. It almost feels like they should run without riders as some form of herd. I like the older boar rider models though.

I don't have an opinion on the matter one way or the other.
Orcs and Goblins have always been that army that just flies under my radar. I never really paid attention to their models or their rules much.

I don't think they're an afterthought, knoffles, though I respect your opinion. The Boars themselves have grooves where the Orc Rider's legs fit on their backs, and the ridge mane on the Boar has a gap where the Orc rider's hand fits. If you look carefully, the Orc Rider has tufts of hair coming out from in between their fingers, where they're hanging onto the Boar. I think the overall "feel" is that the Orc is barely holding onto the Boar as they barrel into battle. A mass of destructive meat. Ryryak, I think O&G are so close to in comparison to your Skaven, I could see why you wouldn't want a second army like that.....for now.....

The end is in sight thankfully.
I'm glad that now I have a good base to work with and from now on I can just add to the army a unit at a time. That being said...
I'm ready for a 2000 point army that has less than 100 models now. (Nurgle Daemons: 71!)

Nah. Just a palette cleanse. Some new colors, new basing opportunities, and NOT 200+ models.
I do have ogres though...
