Looking good. That banner is a bit un-aerodynamic though! If he were flying, the material would be flapping way back, closer to horizontal. The banners from any of the Cold One Knights/Corsairs/Cold One Chariot/Witch Elves/Dark Riders kits would fit better with a flying model. The Corsair banner in particular is big enough to be an impressive army battle standard.

Donโt agree on that at all ๐ This was my process: Witch elves and dark rider banner is way too small to be BSB. Cold one banner is boring too be BSB unless you freehand like da vinci. And I do not. ๐ Donโt own a chariot so have no clue how it looks. Corsair didnt fit well and so goes for phenix guard banner as it was full of.... phenixes . Then to the part of flying. Most of the time the models do stand still on ground in warhammer as all flying units have to land/hoover. So i rather have this banner ๐

It's a pity we never got a plastic Dark Elf Dreadlord/Master kit with BSB the way the High Elves did. Dark Elves are my first army, and while I haven't painted any for a while, I remember the lack of sculpted detail on the banners being a real pain. I hate freehand too - my converted BSB uses the Corsair banner as it's the biggest - I think when I eventually get around to painting him I'll have a go at copying one of the more simple runes from the army book, because that's about all I might be able to manage.

One thing that I really like, is to use the O&G BSB banner for other army purposes. It is one of the most dynamic banners I've found and can work on a variety of levels. It DOES, however, depend on how you paint it up. Well worth the effort in my opinion though. Here are a few examples of how I've used it: OK BSB: Empire (mounted) BSB (I drilled a few holes in this one to indicate battle damage.): O&G (Grom the Paunch): Orc BSB: (He's in the unit. Bad pic.) At any rate, I think that this one has a wide variety of uses and is fairly easy to find on eBay. Food for thought.

OnG banner is nice too. But it goes into the same category as corsair or cold one knight. It needs freehand to look good. Not up to that task By the way, this was my first conversion ever!

Current state of my DE army: I love seeing full army shots like this. And so many fully painted! That's an incredible feat, strutsagget!

mottdon I think I got the idea from one of your threads It is also very fun to put em all on the table. So seldom you play with em all. I would say I have painted about ~50% of the models. Last owner painted the block of black guard, most of the spears, 5 riders, executioners and some hereos. It got me to a great start but limited the color choice Going to do more of these army shots later

Bought a DE lot to share with my friend and included were some riders. Does anyone that knows where these are from. Rider is old metal dark riders/scouts, but the horses are plastic.

Fittingly enough I believe the horses are primarily from the HE chariot kit. Silly Dark Elves always raiding the HE!

Yep. The two laying on their sides, facing away from one another, are both from the Tiranoc Chariot (I guarantee you he bought the kit, and made the Lion Chariot option, then had the two horses left over. I've done this as well.) If I'm not mistaken, I seem to recall them only having the fancy harness on one side of their necks. Am I wrong in that?
The other one you have laying on it's side, jumping off the rock, is a wood elf horse. You can tell from the "armor" around the mane/head.
