Time for new goals! I'll also use this chance to remind everyone who wants to participate, that you have until March 31st to finish off the two-month group challenge of a unit filler! Just a reminder, it can be any shape, size...anything! As long as it can be used to fill in for regular R&F troops. I hope we all take advantage of this to motivate each other and inspire others to think outside the box!
I'll be reigning in my goals for this month a bit since Spring is knocking on our door and I will be spending a good amount of my weekend time outside building a swingset for my kids as well as a garden and chicken coop.
Here's what I've got on my docket:
1 Unit Filler
3 Ogre Maneaters
1 Ogre BSB 10 Sisters of Avelorn 1 High Elf BSB
1 High Elf Prince
And as always, random stuff that sparks my interest
Hoping to see your lists and work soon!

I will commit to:
Looking at the Glade Lord on Stag without noticeably getting any further on it (I don’t know what I’d do if he wasn’t weighing down my painting/chopping board). Paint: a single Bretonnian knight 3 Agressors (oops non wfb alert). Perhaps a few waywatchers and a waystalker See if anything else takes my fancy or is on the board part painted that I forgot about.
Failing this, I’ll take photos my my other painted wood elf models (some I’ve done, some I haven’t) and add them to my thread. Oh and work out how to finally use the pin drill thing by watching a how-to video!

I picked up the GW hand drill thingy (name escapes me) ages ago to pin some metal models and realised I (a) had never used it and (b) have no idea how to use it lol. I’m sure it’s obvious once you know how but the only drill I’ve ever used is a big power tool for house bits.
Ok have just watched a video and know how to use it. Feels good clearing something from the list on day 1 😉. Will now have to add, Pin the Beastmen BSB standard to the model, to the to do list!

I'm actually switching gears.
I'm going to commit to:
Finish painting my Skaven bsb.
Completely paint my starting Mordheim Dwarf warband.
If I still have time I'm entertaining creating a couple marshes/swamps so that my upcoming lizardmen warband will have some aquatic features for the skinks to take advantage of. This will also allow me to practice my technique and learn the materials and looks for my upcoming Daemons of Chaos for Fantasy.
EDIT: I forgot about the unit filler challenge! I'm going to need to get one of those finished too...I'm going to do a swamp base 50mmx50mm so that I can practice my basing for the Daemon army. I'll add like a nurgling or maybe a skeleton in the water for a little more flourish

lots of ambitious goals here. Here is what I have in mind for this month:
- a unit filler. Inspiration will hit any minute now...wait for it...nope, not yet - an Iron Daemon. Rather intimidated by that thing. Took a while just to put it together. - finish up a Fortified Manor. It's been sitting half-painted for around four years. But this month is the month that will change! - pikemen. when in doubt, paint a pikemen.

Here is my WIP, white lions unit filler. Some of it was done by the old owner, so I don't take full credit 😊

Awesome unit filler. I always liked the Lion chariot lion sculpts Thx for the kind words. Think I need to fix the eyes of the lion as the yellow glaze has smeared out a little bit too much. Also, the eye closest to the lion on the character is a bit too open so it might need some fix too. Eyes are hard when you don't have a steady hand

Very cool strutsagget! I might have to try something like that for my WLs too! (I only have 20, so that might really help!)
The character's left eye probably does need a little work. It looks a little like it's bulging out of it's socket. I can't really tell from the pics about the Lion's eyes. Looks fine to me from what I can see.
I really like the green gems on the character's suit!

when you compare the claw on the cloak with the claw of the actual lion it becomes clear that the Elves kill baby lions for their cloaks. Bastards! always suspected there was something wrong with these smug pointy ears. They probably club them to death while mum and dad are out hunting.
Great filler though, I like it.
Regarding eyes, I have pretty much given up on that outside characters. you don't see them in the masses anyway. Depends though if you are painting for a display case or for gaming. In this case I would just make that bulging eye smaller with a line of brown and call it a day.

I always paint my eyes. Simply because I don't have a "front rank" worth of models, any model could be in the front rank. I've never had a hard time with eyes though. I've got a 20/0 that I've had for 20 years now that's ONLY used for eyes; it's a very short, very small brush. I don't go into too much detail on my eyes though, white with a dot of black in the middle for humans/elves, red/yellow/green if you're a monster or a monster race of some kind. Like this guy:
